How come we never hear about this kind of news?

There was a witness on CNN just Friday night. That was not debunked. She was informed by the investigator that the screaming person was Zimmerman and she said it was not. Also she offered to show them where the two parties were and the police refused to have her go to the seen. At the time I understood the investigators reticence. They knew where the crime scene was. She did not see the shooting but did see two men on the ground and she stated to her it looked like Zimmerman was on top of Martin.

LOL...by chance, this wasn't the same woman who 'won' the lottery from Baltimore, was it?

Simply amazing that a witness 'magically' appears after all this time to report that she saw it all.

    ((((((((((((((((((((((((YAWN)))))))))))))))))))))))

Ha ha...Meet Trevor Dooley, a 69 year old black bus driver who shot a 41 year old white air force vet of 20 years in a park in Florida.

The crime occurred on a Sunday, and Dooley wasn't arrested until Tuesday...in spite of everyone knowing whodunnit.

    http://www.wtsp.com/news/topstories/story.aspx?storyid=148431&catid=250

Whoops...looks like playin' the race card backfired this time.

BTW, Dooley was eventually exonerated of that murder under Florida's SYG law.

    This is sad

The answer is simple. Your suspect in Oklahoma was caught and is being punished. If this had happened in the Trayvon Martin case would people be squawking as much? I don't think so. The suspect in this case was apprehended. From the looks of things proper procedure was followed.

The problem with the Trayvon Martin case was clear AND IS IN NO WAY SIMILAR.

THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE ROUGH EQUIVALENCY ARGUMENT THAT PEOPLE HERE ARE TRYING TO MAKE. The problem in the Trayvon Martin case was simple. An innocent young man was killed and basically NOTHING was done about it. WAs nothing done in this case? Ask the guy in Jail!

(By the way, Blem is right there was an article that said that White Males tend not to see discrimination unless its perceived against white males.)

The problem is that the Trayvon Martin case is not as obvious as the case against Woodford. As to CSstory's question, this case has been investigated and the guy is in jail. The husband was in the room when his wife was assaulted and raped. The press and media has made a mockery of the Martin case so much so that no body knows the truth. There is no comparison between the cases. When race is involved it seems that the outrage becomes greater. The funny thing is that Zimmerman is Latino and white. If his skin had more of the darker Indian Mexican blood in him would he still be considered a caucasian? I was not trying to compare the two incidents as they are different. How often do you see black against black crime which is pretty prevalent going un-noticed? Why should this be any different. It is two people. Who cares what color they are? Inter-racial violence sells more papers and makes more news. It is a sad society we live in. What would be the reaction if Woodford was a young white guy and raped and assaulted an old black woman in the same circumstances? Be honest!

  • all you ranters out there realize that Zimmerman was taken into custody and questioned at the cop shop, right? the way some of you guys talk is he went for a stroll to McDonald's after the shooting and the cops didn't mind.

Is it your position that the proper time to have and share an opinion about a legal situation is after charges have been filed, but before a trial jury has reached a verdict?

Sounds like another weak attempt from someone on the left to demonize an entire group, as if we speak, think, and act as a monolith.

And yet some on the right feel the same way about blacks, assuming that what Jessie and Al say, applies for all of them.

C, for a lot of us that have been burned by the media in the past this didn't feel like we were getting all the info. It felt like it was being framed to make a point. And in fact, It looks like the media has been trying to shape perception. Kind of like what people said about oj and the police, trying to frame a guilty man. I did like what the Miami heat did to support the Martin family. I didn't like what congressman attention whore did though.

How about this? If it is a member in the family and you are in the room and witnessed your loved one raped and killed in front of you would that be more convincing as opposed to someone seeing an event in low visibility conditions, with conflicting witnesses aided and abetted by clever editing and fomenting by the press with a crime that is not as obvious what would you say? You will do anything to try to make your argument including this weak ass attempt to make your point. Nice try. The two cases are not the same. The Trayvon Martin and the Woodford cases.....and I will say it sloooooooowly, so you will understand ARE NOT THE SAME!!!

Can't the same be said for almost everything, though? I think so. I don't like reading what some talking head says about a bill, I want to read the bill. I don't want to be told what WikiLeaks will do to America, I'll read WikiLeaks for myself and make my own opinions. I don't need the media to tell me who is electable, I analyze every part of every candidate and again, formulate my own opinions.

Sure, except a bill is a bill, you can read it yourself. Otherwise I agree with you. You posted a link yourself that was titled something like "police pressured witness to ack Zimmerman" as corroboration of police misconduct. But when you read the article that was not the case.

They are not the same. One is a disgusting crime, with a known, charged, and now-convicted suspect, the other is an incident with details that are unclear, a shooter who hasn't been charged, and racial implications. You are a doctor, I don't need to describe to you why one crime is getting more attention than the other.

I probably linked to you the article that first came up on Google with the query "witness police Trayvon" or something like that. This would probably be more accurate of a title. I usually dont link the articles I've read unless I am reading them as I am posting

Main difference: Dooley was arrested inside a week and was given a trial (which proves the "your black a** would be arrested and in jail if the situation was reversed" theory). Zimmerman? It's a month and half and yet he's still free. Also, do you know if Dooley called 911 about a "suspiciously white guy" wearing a hoodie and if he followed and shot the guy AFTER being told not to by the 911 operator?

Simply putting forth an example where the races of the shooter and victim are reversed isn't enough. It assumes that all other circumstances are the same, which they aren't.

The Dooley situation does rebut the implication that a black guy would have been locked up instantly.

Perhaps, Monkey. But only to a limited extent. How long was Dooley out before he was arrested in comparison to Zimmerman?

What I can say with certainty is that the family of the victim in that case can at least say that the accused was given a day in court.

    Trayvon's parents cannot.

I don't know who this family member is. I don't know what type of agenda he might have had. From a report I read earlier, the family member that is acting as a witness right now is a person that has a criminal record.

At this point, I don't feel like I am in a position to offer any type of opinion on the guilt or innocence of the young man that has been arrested. When everything is put forth during a trial, I will then feel comfortable forming any type of opinion about these allegations.
