    Oh come on, we don't need a doctoral these discussion about that. What leads people to be promiscuous? That's easy:

    - Hot women
    - Hot men
    - Catholicism
    - Issues with Mom & Dad
    - Basic self-loathing

    Seriously. But this is where libertarianism has nothing to say about culture. Markets just care about price whereas we should care about value. Banning cigarettes to under-18s is a market inefficiency, for example.

    I think families are the solution, and I don't mind age restrictions on certain substances, but I think they should be lowered. I am sure if my friends that smoke cigarettes saw a HS senior coughing up a lung after a walk up the stairs they'd think twice about smoking cigarettes regularly. I am a libertarian but I have enough sense to think that children should be cared for if the family is unwilling or unable to. Making something unattainable makes it sought after.
