Golfing with women

  • it came up as an aside in a thread this week. Goflifing with my wife this week we got paired with strangers. One fo the guys asked about my "usual golf group" and I said you're looking at her. We golf together almost evey week-end. My question is, is this really that odd? are my friends secretly talking shit behind my back that she comes with when I invite them out?

  • I don't think it's that strange, but that's just me. I play as a single quite often so I get grouped up with a wide variety of players and I've played with quite a few couples. I got paired up with two women last year and ended up playing quite a few rounds with one of them after that.

  • It depends. If she's a good golfer and doesn't talk nonstop, she's probably a great golf partner.

  • A group of women were playing golf yesterday right behind us.

The first teed-off and watched in horror as the ball headed directly toward our foursome, and wouldn't you know it hit my playing partner. We saw him immediately clasp his hands together at his crotch, fall to the ground and proceeded to roll around in agony.

The woman who hit the shot rushed down to my partner and immediately began to apologize. She then explained that she was a physical therapist and offered to help ease his "pain."

"Please allow me to help, I am a physical therapist and I know I could relieve your pain if you'd just allow me!" She told him earnestly. "Ummph, oooh, nnnoo, I'll be alright...I'll be fine in a few minutes," he replied as he remained in the fetal position still clasping his hands together at his crotch.

The woman takes it upon herself to begin to "ease his pain". She began to massage his groin.

After a few moments she asked, "does that feel better?" The man looked up at her and replied, "yes, that feels pretty good ... but my thumb still hurts like hell!"

    And good morning all.

  • my g/f and I golf a few times a year. she's good enough to not slow us down (Im lucky to shoot in the 80s) and usually breaks 100. In my opinion, there are some guys who are far worse playing partners. talk constantly, dont respect the nuances of the game etc. never had that problem with a girl on the course.....

For $20 you get Chachi, but $40 gets you Fonzie....

wouldn't the same thing be said about a male golfer?

I don't care if my playing partners are good or not. As long as they follow the etiquette, maintain pace of play and are pleasant then all good with me.

  • I actually regularly play golf with my wife. It gives something to do together, especially down the road when I retire.

I golf with my wife quite a bit. She is not a good golfer. She typically will hit her shot, pick up and drop near mine. She does not talk incessantly. She follows proper etiquette and we enjoy spending the time together. We get paired up with other people frequently. I've seen some of the guys look a little hesitant to play with us, but by the end they tend to get very friendly with her. In my mind, anyone who has a problem with that takes themselves way too seriously.

  • One time I had a he/she in my group. HE teed up on the ladies tee, after HE teed off I understood why.
