Funeral Director: No Sign Trayvon Martin Fought

Not really. The cuts look like a dodgeball accident, not a life threatening wound. You should note that at the scene of the shooting the police opted not to take Zimmerman to a hospital, and the police are usually cautious with people they detain in that regard. The edited 911 call is deplorable, but the unedited call is the one I've been listening to, and it is damning without the sensationalizing.

Interesting. Sounds like you have an emotional investment in a specific narrative and will not allow emerging facts to affect it.

Personally, I'd be pissed if I found out the sources I trusted had been intentionally deceiving me.

    Heh.

Here's some additional information about the "forensics expert" who some find so convincing:

JustOneMinute: The Self-Refuting Expert Witness The Orlando Sentinel Is Touting

Back on the Trayvon Martin killing audio expert Tom Owen is getting good press with his claim (broken by the Orlando Sentinel) that it is not George Zimmerman heard screaming for help on a 911 call. Here are CBS, CNN,...

I never heard of this "JustOneMinute" blog. I just read some of it. It seems like WingNutsRUs. it mentions that a forensic expert that analyzed the scream is not reliable, and is in fact not even expert. Even if true, how about the second expert that came to the same conclusion?

I have yet to watch NBC News or ABC News in my life.

The enhanced video shows anything but a serious wound and the 911 call I've been touting is unedited.

It's rather silly to make a medical judgement about the degree of Zimmerman's injuries based on a surveillance video.

BTW, the law does not have any degree-of-actual-injury element. One only has to have a reasonable belief that force is necessary to defend oneself against imminent serious bodily harm.

The forensic expert (1) is not a credentialed forensic expert, and (2) says on his own blog that you cannot possible make an audio i.d. in the manner in which he makes an audio i.d.

Look, I don't know who did what... I just find it absurd that others think they do, based on zero credible evidence. I guess righteous indignation just feels so good to some people that they don't care if it is based in fact or fiction.

What a bunch of fucking bullshit
This kid was doing nothing wrong
His only crine was walking while black and you know it
This asshole targeted him and stalked him even when he was told not to
The rest of this is bullshit
This man had no authority to do what he did, and if this was a white kid and a black man who did the shooting he would have been arrested on the spot and he would be facing The desth penalty and you know it

Please don't tell me what I know. That's a childish tactic.

In return, I won't tell you that you know in your heart that this thug in the making brutally attacked a 5'9" latino man who was honorably trying to protect his neighborhood from a spate of burglaries and had no choice but to defend his life with force as his head was being bashed into the concrete. Rather, you could provide some evidence for your claims. Doing nothing wrong -- why is beating someone up not wrong? Walking while black -- what does race have to do with this? No authority -- how does the self-defense statute not apply?

I like the idea of surveillance cameras in PUBLIC places if that helps prevent or solve crime. To justify the expense, cities need to use good judgment in placing them.

    Couldn't agree more.

When I was teaching, the county I worked in was having a LOT of problems with violence on school buses. The county announced that they were implementing a program to install video cameras on the buses, and the incidents of violent outbreaks decreased.

Unbeknownst to the vast majority of us at the time, they didn't have the money to pay for real cameras for 100% of the buses, so a large majority of the buses were outfitted with fake cameras that had red lights always on as if they were filming.lol

Pretty ingenious idea, but the threat of being caught on camera can be a useful deterrent in certain situations.

If you have any familiarity with the undertaking process, you woukd know that while not an autopsy, it is pretty intimate, and one of the steps in the process is a close examination of the deceased's injuries if any, because the aim is to cover them up for an open casket viewing, ESPECIALLY the face and hands.

So I would give the Undertaker's observations at least as much credence as I would any of the other so called authorities in this abomination

Blem, I'm done with this issue for now, but to your point about the credibility of the undertaker, let me pose these few questions to you.

    Who pays the undertaker?

Who stands to gain financially from a report that supports those who paid his bill? ( After all, the notoriety he receives and support he lends the family would likely go a long way towards others in the community utilizing his services when needed.)

Who stands to lose the most with a negative report? (Opposite from above)

Frankly, the guy should stay out of it, especially since the wounds in question belong to Zimmerman. I'm sure you've whipped people's asses in your day and never received a Mark in doing so...so why would it be a surprise if Trayvon had no injuries?

And one more rhetorical question I will pose to the universe is... We've now heard from the undertaker, as well as a forensic audio expert... But why hasn't anyone tracked down the paramedics to give an account of what they witnessed that night?

Maybe it's better that we don't know since it appears that Zimmerman doesn't have the wounds the cops or his lawyer described, and the whole thing could explode if they confirmed Zimmerman either had no wounds or they were minimal, at best.

You should really stop. The police aren't the ones who decide whether or not Zimmerman is taken to a hospital.

That call is Zimmerman's, and Zimmerman's alone. From the early reports, he was treated at the scene by paramedics and **refused** the **offer** to be transported to a hospital.

  • George Zimmerman... community-organizing hero of the black community?

“You will recall the incident of the beating of the black homeless man Sherman Ware on December 4, 2010 by the son of a Sanford police officer. The beating sparked outrage in the community but there were very few that stepped up to do anything about it. I would presume the inaction was because of the fact that he was homeless not because he was black.

"Do you know the individual who stepped up when no one else in the black community would? Do you know who spent tireless hours putting flyers on the cars of persons parked in the churches of the black community? Do you know who waited for the church-goers to get out of church so that he could hand them flyers in an attempt to organize the black community against this horrible miscarriage of justice? Do you know who helped organize the City Hall meeting on January 8, 2011 at Sanford City Hall??

    "That person was GEORGE ZIMMERMAN.”

    Narrative FAIL.

Uhm, walking back from the store, carrying a bag of Skittles and an Ice Tea, IS doing nothing wrong

Zimmerman is the one that decided to escalate the situatiom. That is not even debatable.

    This whole thing is crazy

The kid was walking home from the store. He did NOTHING to instigate the confrontation

The guy folllowed him and confronted him

Even if he did decide he had to engage the dude, big fucking deal

Since when is it ok to instigate a fight, and then if you are getting your ass kicked, pull a gun and shoot the guy that YOU picked a fight with

Not to mention this kid was 6-3 ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS. Do you realize how skinny that is? That is Biafran War Orphan skinny. Zimmerman is a 28 year old well over 200 lbs in the prime of his life.

As for the Undetaker, I am not saying his observations prove or disprove anything. I also don't think you can assume he has an agenda just because he got paid to ferform the duties he performs ever day

I take his words at face value. He saw no signs on the body that would lead him to believe the kid had been involved in a fight,

I predicted when this whole thing first happened, that the right would try to turn this kid into Menace to Society. Somehow making it HIS fault he is dead.

    So predictable

It has nothing to do with the killing of Trayvon Martin.

It has everything to do with the narrative on Zimmerman's racist tendencies as a reason for provoking the incident.

Last time I checked, the KKK isn't handing out flyers at black churches to assemble people in protest over the Sanford cops killing a homeless black man.

Add that to the fact that of the 46 calls he made to 911 since 2004, five were to report white subjects and four Were to report black subjects, with two calls to report Hispanic subjects.

The guy appeared to be ultra-weird, but I'm not seeing this pattern of racism yet everyone's talking about in regards to Zimmerman.

By and large I don't agree that anybody is trying to turn this kid into a menace to society. I'm sure Zimmermans defense team will when the time comes.

Maybe you could be specific about who on the right or the left is trying to turn Trayvon into a menace to society.
