  • i just Googled "misquoted by cnn" and came up with this= it happens. i think you could do a search for "misquoted by (insert name of any news org.)" and come up with enough reading to keep you busy all day. you can call it "lies" or whatever you like but probly most often the reporter is being sloppy, lazy or using 2nd hand info. i think it best to research anything that may be important to you rather than rely on a "talking head" from any of the news programs. i watch MSNBC, CNN , FOX, LINK(not news, but related info) as well as the networks and i take it all in with a grain of salt.
let's start an organization called "Remove the Division", to make the two major parties start working for "US" again, rather keeping "US" at each others throats all the time. i know= not as much funbiggrin

Hmmmm.... Fox seem to make record number of these mistakes and all in the same political direction. If you add in the fact that Roger Ailes has publicly said that the idea is to propagandize to those who are not bright enough to realize or care, and you should be somewhat worried. I predict quite a few people will want to make this about other news channels, though.

Fox Nation is the most confusing/hilarious site on the internet. I'm not sure if the joke is on me, because it might be some sock puppet site, run by filthy Berkeley liberals or something. Have you ever taken the time to peruse that site? It's fascinating. But the best/worst part of all is the comments under each story. That's where you really get a feel for what regular Americans think about things. I make it a point to visit Fox Nation daily and read the comments. it's equal parts hilarious and sad.

Hmmmm.... Fox seem to make record number of these mistakes and all in the same political direction.

It only seems that way because your head is stuck in the sand when others do it. Amazing what one notices when they look for these types of things, no?

"It should also be noted that Doocy, while admitting his misstatement on television, has yet to address his equally false statements he made while co-hosting on Brian Kilmeade's Fox News Radio."

I looked, and looked, and looked to even see if the Examiner pointed out that NBC never even admitted on television to having edited audio in the Trayvon case. Couldn't find it, though. Perhaps you can point me to that article.

Instead, they issued a press release to announce their mistake and never even named the producer who was allegedly fired for the 'mistake'.

Typical Lib slant, though. The guy issues an apology on television, then gets called out for it because he didn't issue another apology on radio.

I already expressed my discomfort with the media take on the Trayvon case. I notice that you have been very vocal in those matters but strangely quiet on this? Even excessively forgiving. How does the sand taste down there?

    New York --

NBC News has fired a producer for editing a recording of George Zimmerman's call to police the night he shot Trayvon Martin, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said Saturday.

The identity of the producer was not disclosed. The dismissal followed an internal investigation that led to NBC apologizing for having aired the misleading audio.

The person with knowledge of the firing spoke on the condition of anonymity. An NBC spokeswoman declined to comment.

NBC's "Today" show first aired the edited version of Zimmerman's call on March 27. The recording that viewers heard was trimmed to suggest that Zimmerman volunteered to police, with no prompting, that Martin was black: "This guy looks like he's up to no good. He looks black."

But the portion of the tape that was deleted had the 911 dispatcher asking Zimmerman if the person who had raised his suspicion was "black, white or Hispanic," to which Zimmerman responded, "He looks black."

Later that night of Feb. 26, the 17-year-old Martin was fatally shot by Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, Fla. Though Martin was unarmed, Zimmerman told police he fired in self-defense after Martin attacked him.

Questions subsequently have arisen over whether Zimmerman was racially profiling the teen, a theory the edited version of the tape seemed to support.

On Tuesday, NBC said its investigation turned up "an error made in the production process that we deeply regret." It promised that "necessary steps" would be taken "to prevent this from happening in the future" and apologized to viewers.

There's a reason they continually refuse to release that persons name when asked.

TV Corrects Itself, Just Not on the Air

After broadcasting an audio clip on the “Today” show about George Zimmerman last month that hit the trifecta of being misleading, incendiary and dead-bang wrong, NBC News management took serious action: it fired the producer in charge and issued a statement apologizing for making it appear as if Mr. Zimmerman had made overtly racist statements.

The only thing NBC didn’t do was correct the report on the “Today” show.

What is it with television news and corrections? When the rest of the journalism world gets something wrong, they generally correct themselves. But network news acts as if an on-air admission of error might cause a meteor to land on the noggin of one of its precious talking heads. NBC used all of the powers at its disposal to amend the mistake, except the high-visibility airtime where the bad clip ran in the first place...

And indeed they were chided just this morning on CNN for exactly that. A point they conceded. But LOL at you since you said you count find proof of them apologizing. They didn't do it on the air. BUT THEY DID DO IT! And it was more than amply noted BY OTHER NETWORKS AT THE TIME.

This reminds me of a great joke by Kimmel this weekend. The difference between the people that listen to Limbaugh and Maher is that the people that listen to Maher know that he is an asshole.
