Cell phone service in Boston shut down to prevent remote detonations.
Yes, I just remembered that the other day after the article on the Branch Davidians which ran in Esquire. Almost every cause has some wackos.
“Close tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share,” Reagan vowed.
A homicide bomber is to blame regardless of their agenda.
However, you are right.

I am not sure what you are referring to (Twitter, which I do not follow?), but CNN is being misrepresented by the right (what else is new?). Below is a link from Breitbart. Breitbart would never fudge things to help CNN. Ignore their misrepresented headline and listen to the video from CNN. What is actually being said is that if the bomb has hydrogen peroxide, then it is probably Al Qaeda. If it is more conventional, then it is more likely to be right wing extremists. He is not speculating that it is right wing extremists. He is mentioning what the possibilities are and what the indications would be.
I pray for the safety of my children every day, and today was an example of how that prayer was answered.
I have a daughter who is a freshman at BU and took in her first marathon with a few of her friends since classes are customarily canceled on this day.
She just told my wife that she left the finish line 20 minutes before the explosions to go get lunch with her friends. She literally heard the explosions from where they were eating and high tailed it back to her dorm.
My heart hurts for those who lost loved ones and for those seriously injured. Really depressing to see how our world is changing for the worse right before our eyes.

I had two nephews that were running in the Boston marathon today. Both are safe and unharmed.
A Timothy McVeigh-esque nutjob?
"Taxes are a joke. Regardless of what a political candidate "promises," they will increase. More taxes are always the answer to government mismanagement. They mess up. We suffer. Taxes are reaching cataclysmic levels, with no slowdown in sight. [...] Is a Civil War Imminent? Do we have to shed blood to reform the current system? I hope it doesn't come to that. But it might." -Timothy McVeigh, 1992
Not everyone's thinking is so tribal.
I'm trying to work with a little television in my office on mute but something tells me this is the work of a homegrown terrorist. I have nothing more than a gut feeling to back that up with, though.
Bull. Bergen on CNN expressly stated what would indicate it being an Al Qaeda bomb and what would indicate it being right wing extremists. He expressly discussed the possibility of terrorism. He did not ignore it.

Hard for me to forget, April 19th is my birthday. Every year my birthday is the anniversary of Waco and Oklahoma City. Kind of wish I could change the date.

What makes you think that he hadn't already? One can examine something that doesn't exist instantaneously.
Wow. Glad your daughter is safe. Scary.
Police now saying that's not true:
A spokesperson for the Boston Police Department said no suspects have been taken into custody yet after the bombing at the Boston Marathon.
"At this time, we haven't been notified of any arrests or anyone apprehended," the spokesperson said.
The New York Post reported that a "Saudi national who suffered shrapnel wounds in today's blast" has been identified as "a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing." The Boston PD spokesperson did not confirm that report.
"Honestly, I don't know where they're getting their information from, but it didn't come from us," said the spokesperson.
The Post report was attributed to "a law enforcement source." According to the Post, the "suspect" is "currently being guarded in a Boston hospital."
Oh my goodness! Thank God for your daughter. Thank God that she was not one of the less fortunate victims.
It was on NBC radio and the PBS radioi in Portland sourcing a new Rueters report.
Thank God for them.
NY Post getting things wrong... not surprised.
If true, this would further complicate our rather strange relationship with Saudi Arabia. I have a couple of Muslim friends who I'll also be praying for. Attacks on Muslims always go up after these kinds of thins. The same thing used to happen to Irish people in London when I was a kid.

FWIW... tax day + Boston + domestic terrorist were also some of the first things that jumped in my mind. But alas... I'll take a wait and see approach.
That coincidence sucks.
My apologies for my false reaction.
