They told Tebow to shut up about Jesus!
"...an economy hampered by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough jobs or enough profits" JFK
I've been gone.
I just have to say this. For a group that screams that we need to stay out of their bedroom, they sure like to talk about it themselves.
Keep it in your bedroom. I don't want to hear about it.
Sure. And black people also shouldn't share your swimming pools?
“Close tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share,” Reagan vowed.
Not sure what you are talking about? We had a fairly famous black person share our pool as a child. Morris Chestnut from Boyz in the Hood swam at our house all the time.
Shane Mack too.
So did Kerwin, Darren and Keith, Broderick, Garrett... to name just a few.
Really? That's what you took from that comment?
Pretty sure the same comment would have could have been made about hetero's discussing their sex life publicly.
Which happens all the time. And has been for decades. You can't have equality by asking people to hide under a rock. And of course the funny thing about gay marriage is that homosexual people want nice, comfortable bourgeois rights just like we have. It's not an attempt to be ostentatiously different.
He didn't say hide under a rock. He said keep your sex life private. Nothing more, nothing less. That's how conservatives feel. Remember, you asked for a conservative's feedback.
Myself, I'm a hypocrite. I want to see two chicks doing it. Two men? Not so much.
And don't try and pigeon hole me into one of the political groups because I do not fall on one side or the other.

Strangely enough I don't want to watch gay porn either, and I don't think anyone's forcing anyone to. So, which of these things would a conservative be against:
a) gay people holding hands on the street;
b) gay people kissing;
c) bars dedicated to gay people;
d) Gay people having the same legal rights as a heterosexual couple;
e) Schools like USC providing education and resources to those who are gay
When people say 'keep it in the bedroom' what exactly do they mean?
They mean don't make out in public in front of them. I say the same to straight people: get a room, keep it outta my face!
Join the fight for YOUR liberty!
Whatever...you conservative fag!
swr and justafan have trouble reading the entire comment. They attack minutiae and build straw men and then discard comments as boorish. Then try and argue their failed straw man through misrepresentation of others comments.
My comment was that for a group that screams to stay out of the their bedroom they sure seem to like to bring their bedroom into public.
I don't care if Adam and Steve want to play house and hide the sausage. That is their business. I'm not even against setting up familial rights for their bottom guy. But lets quit throwing parades about their sex life.
Its sad when the media tells Tebow to calm down his giving thanks to his faith for his provision and they stampede to some guy because he wants to talk about the kind of sex he has. And this guy gets a call from the President as a hero? please...
I am tough on excessive PDA regardless of sexual orientation.

Your comment was not clear. Don't blame others for your lack of conveying your meaning.
So, you are against gay pride parades? Part of their necessity was the discrimination and the lack of gay people being comfortable enough to know that there were other people who had decided not to live a lie. I guess you could attack the parades (why do you go if you don't like them?) but wouldn't it make more sense to attack the discrimination? And, as I say, the push now is to normalize gay relationships- not be more ostentatiously different.
Do you 'play house and hide the sausage' with your wife? You do talk a lot about penises on here!
And, yes, Tebow should have probably spent less time pushing his agenda and more time learning how to play QB. But to say that the media were against Tebow rather than relentlessly pushing someone who has been pretty terrible in the league is to see life incredibly ideologically. The media did nothing but talk Tebow. All the time. And plenty of people felt that his faith was being thrusted in front of them completely in an outsized relationship to how much Tebow should matter. I am all for a more grown-up and thorough discussing of faith but a genuine one rather than an endless puffing up of Tebow's ego. And Christianity is hardly discriminated against- and Tebow is hardly the first openly Christian athlete- in the same way that Jason Collins is. So comparing them isn't really your best argument.
That last sentence is really key.
I think we've got a pretty good idea of who is heterosexual on this board. The reason we know who is heterosexual is because they've mentioned their wives, girlfriends, or mentioned people of the opposite sex whom they find attractive. We don't know that these people are heterosexual because they've detailed exactly what they do in the bedroom.
At this point our society tends to define gay by what we imagine they might be doing in their bedrooms, but we don't do the same to heterosexual people we don't know. That difference seems to be lost on a lot of people.
Good for Jason. He seems like a nice man and not having to hide this from his friends, family, fans and the world in general ought to make him feel much less stressed. I'd think keeping this a secret must have been brutal for him.
And now he'll probably make more money on the speaking circuit than he was as a very marginal ball player.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen - Dennis Prager
Yup. Although he played for the Celtics earlier in the season and he was a big man off the bench for a team that didn't have much depth. By all accounts he's a high-character guy too. My guess is that he could sign for some team for one more year. Would be nice to have him play some minutes somewhere just to get the precedent out of the way.
Funny you'd bring that up. I know quite a few gay people who "came out" to me by not really coming out at all. Just mentioned their husband or wife or mentioned in passing the sex of their partner or something like that.
I wonder what would have happened if Jason just lived his life as a gay man and didn't "come out" with all the hype? I honestly have no idea. He probably would have been hounded so much that he would have had to make a statement in the way that he did. I am curious though.
Do you ever post without lying? You have clearly stated that you care. You have stated what others do in their private lives would affect your life greatly. You had written that you would not have married your wife and that she would not have married you if gays were allowed to marry then. How much more can a person care?
That is really none of your freakin business is it?
You see that is the problem with your types. You always want to make it public, turn it into a parade.
You left the bit about you always talking about penises off what was quoted!
And didn't answer any of the questions put to you. Yes, nitpicking and isolating small parts of posts are other people's problems. Oh dear, if it wasn't so tragic, you'd be funny.
So mentioning penis once is "a lot" now.
We were talking about your lack of self esteem and I playfully joked and asked if you maybe had a traumatic experience in college.
And I don't have the time to answer every question posed. Unlike you and morethanafanofstrawmen. I can't live here. I have a family to spend time with. I'll try and get back and see what questions you are talking about.
BTW, you didn't answer my question either. Sooo is it your freakin business?
This is your second in a couple of days, at least that I have seen. Freud would have a field day with you! And, yes, it was definitely 'playful'!
Have a go at just those questions posed in this thread. You've made the time away from your family to post in this thread. I'm sure they'll cope.
No, I don't care how you and your wife prefer intercourse. But I am glad that your love for your wife does not see you discriminated against. If only everyone was so lucky.
My initial reaction was: Who did he come out for?
As a hetero male, I could care less about any one elses sexuality. That's their business.
I was bothered at the national media lionizing him for being courageous and brave.
To me, courageous is running into a burning building to save people while the rest of us are running out. Brave is when you're on patrol in the Kandahar Valley with the Taliban in front of you and an Afghan soldier behind you... And not knowing which one is going to take you out.
Much ado about nothing.
I'm guessing that account doesn't factor in his fiancée and girlfriend of eight years.
I saw Jason and his family on the Oprah special tonight, and they had a snippet from his girlfriend, who was a former basketball player at Stanford.
She put it in terms of 'investing eight years of her life' into a relationship that she was led to believe would be for the rest of their life. She had no idea he was even struggling or a questioning his sexuality, much less hiding who he was.
Matter of fact, when he broke off the relationship and the subsequent marriage - in 2009 - he NEVER even told her of his reason then. It wasn't until right before he publicly came out LAST WEEK did he call her to inform her.
I don't consider him a high character guy, though. Bright - yep. Articulate - yep. Great athlete - yep. High character. No effin' way.
swr is a liberal...he see doing this to a "family" as normal......liberals are whacked in the head.
as for the basketball player.....who cares......it really isn't fucking news.
Troops dying in Afganastan is news....oh it wasn't on TV...They are the heros...they have courage. *we do not discuss while a liberal is in white house
