I thought that too but then they said that they followed foot tracks back through forestry roads and that they eventually lost the tracks. That doesn't line up with having a car unless the car was back on the fire roads. If he did that, he makes himself stick out like a sore thumb driving those back roads.
"...an economy hampered by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough jobs or enough profits" JFK
I'd say about a million per shot. Sounds about right.

That Awkward Moment When...
You take the time to read Dorner's manifesto in it's entirety, and you find that you agree with just about everything he had to say that did not involve killing.
Felt exactly the same way. Throughout I was saying, "When does it get crazy?". Loves Michelle Obama's hair style! Now that's CRAZY TALK!!!
Exactly bro...that's what I'm saying. The dude is not crazy. He shined a light on a huge problem. His way of going about it is extreme, and wrong...but dude is making a point in the most emphatic way possible.
I didn't like him going after my boy, Fareed Zakaria.
Even the Tebow>Sanchez part?!
Not that part.
Meh. He was under duress.
Christian empathy? For who? Those shot? You bet!
For this guy? You have no concept of Christianity, the Scriptures or Biblical justice.
All the while ignoring the fact this guy is enamored with Obama (read that worshiping section) and filled with hate for the NRA, in a completely misguided and judgmental way.
Have to disagree.
"Let me write a massive screed about police corruption and then also address whether or not 'The Hangover 3' should be made, whether Charlie Sheen is cool and whether Fareed Zakaria should be deported" is not the thought process of a sane person.
Just because the main premise of his nutjob rants is more plausible than that of the nutjobs that have gone before him does not make him any less of a nutjob. He may be slightly more lucid but he's still a fucking loon.
Anyone heard the motorcycle theory? May have had a motorcycle hidden up @ Bear. So the way it goes is dude ripped down the mountain with a helmet on and obviously heavy clothing so that his face couldn't be identified and wouldn't look any different than expected.I don't know if dude rode or not ( seems important to the theory) but I heard someone talking about it and thought I'd share. Hopefully the LAPD doesn't start blasting people on motorcycles without stopping them first
Feelings get hurt, best not to have any!
That about sums most of us on the OT board up, so I guess we're reading the writings of a contemporary!
What it's an example of to me is one more reason that I'm thankful the Founding Fathers saw fit to ensure that I'd be able to have guns to protect myself and my loved ones, no matter who the threat was- bad guys, rouge cops, or a rouge government.
I'm not worried about the latter two posing a threat any time soon, but you never know what the world is going to look like 15-20 years from now.
Ya we're all pretty much bat shit crazy
"Rouge" cops? Sounds like something Spirit would be into.
You just boiled down the purpose of the Second Amendment into one sentence.
It exists to enable the people to protect themselves from a government gone bad- from tyranny.
The Founders had seen tyranny first hand, and knew that it was the rule, not the exception, in world history.
The deterrent power of an armed citizenry is meaningful. It helps keep us free.
You should tell the insurgents in Afghanistan to go ahead and give up then, since they have no chance.
Same with Iraq.
And Cuba, China, Russia, and even our own Founding Fathers.
All of the above used small arms to defeat military forces that possessed much greater heavy weapons and military resources.
I don't think Dorner is conspiring with anyone to take people's guns away, but there are plenty of people who want to, such as, this guy:
Assembly Member Rob Bonta, D-Oakland
January 24, 2013
An act relating to weapons.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 174, as introduced, Bonta. Weapons: grandfather clauses.
Existing law prohibits the possession of various weapons.
Under existing law, certain of these bans exempted from their scope weapons that were possessed prior to the ban, if prescribed conditions met, are authorized.
This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to subsequently amend this bill to include provisions that would end all of those exemptions.
What does the above mean ?
It means that Mr Bonta wants to confiscate weapons from 166,000 law-abiding citizens in CA.
Weapons that have never been used in a crime, owned by people who have never committed a crime.
People like me, who owned what is now called an "Assault Weapon" prior to them being banned in 2000.
These guns were bought 100% legally, and have been registered with the state since 2000 as part of the process to be able to legally keep them.
The state cannot take something away from you that you legally purchased, much less something that is protected by the Second Amendment. This bill is laughably un-Constitutional.
But it shows you the mindset of some of the people who are looking to take people's guns away.
Can you imagine the outcry if this guy was trying to restrict free speech in a similar manner ?
And non-gun owners wonder why gun owners always say "Registration leads to confiscation."
"Mark Rapist Sanchez" - Dorner.
Bet he was a Bruin fan who posted on BRO lol.
Not if he had someone else meet him with the car and hunkered down in the back.
Let's say he's got someone helping him (no shortage of folks with serious grudges vs the LAPD):
If they met him up there with a big SUV (Navigator, Landcruiser, whatever), he could easily lay down in the back under blankets until they were out of the area. Put on a floppy hat, sunglasses and fake beard and he could sit in the passenger seat once they got away from Big Bear.
Torching his car had to be a diversion. Why else would you want to attract attention to yourself when you've parked it on a fire road up in the mountains.
I think he and an accomplice wanted to draw a lot of police to the area, knowing they'd be long gone.
If he has some resources and has planned this out for a while, I have a feeling he'll lay low somewhere for a while, until the LAPD has to relax some of the protection it has on people right now, then he will strike again.
I saw those statements as him knowing be is not going to live through this and imparting his final thoughts to a world he knew would have to listen. He's a murderer, that's for sure. But not insane. Laughner you could tell was a nut, but this guy just has a purpose.
Yea, even if it was dorner they were violating his civil rights. No more paper routes for Them
