How did this guy ever become a cop in the first place? 6'0 and 270 lbs, and obvious mental issues. What a mess.
Sometimes people snap. Perhaps he was a bad cop (he was dismissed) but not outright crazy. When he was dismissed, perhaps that caused him to snap. That likely implies that something was wrong all along, but it may not have manifested itself.
Harrowing story to say the least.
Edit: Looks like LAPD trying to beat the setting sun. This is scary shit. I have friends up there in Big Bear.

Join the fight for YOUR liberty!
On a side note the paper lady and her mom that were mistaken for this psycho and shot in Torrance are friends of my wife and me
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen - Dennis Prager
I was just going to add this. Were is the uproar for Lapd shooting first and asking questions later? Torrance pd shot up another car they mistaking for his early in the morning as well. It's ridiculous. People need to lose their jobs. Prayers to your soon to be extremely wealthy friends.
They need to hurry up and catch this guy before he or the police hurt anymore people.
Let's be thankful that these officers were such shitty shots.
I've got at least 5 friends on the TPD. I am going to give it a couple of days before I ask them about this.
As a black guy with a shaved head, I made it a point to stay away from any pick up trucks today.

My father, although 20 years older, looks very young and fits this guys description to a tee. It's scary.
One of my old OC drinking buddies that goes by "Black Richie" looks so much like that guy that it is scary. Thankfully Richie is deployed in Afghanistan right now, or else he really might have run in to some trouble today.
......Black Rambo ...kinda sorta maybe? Yeah..he went overboard with all the KILLIN and shit... but lets face it NOW THE LAPD BLOWNS AWAY ASIAN NEWSPAPER DELEVERY PEOPLE with out even LOOKING???? WTF IS THAT ..kinda helps make the guys point..YA KNOW? ....... I know what it's like to lose my shit ( never like that though) ....this won't end pretty ...
Feelings get hurt, best not to have any!

There is something very shady going on here on the LAPD side.
I'm not justifying his actions, but when I originally read the story this morning, it talked about how he was kicked off the force for falsely accusing a superior officer of using excessive force on a schizophrenic, but that the schizophrenic's father testified that his son's face was swollen from the beating, and that both the schizophrenic and his father testified on Dornan's behalf at his hearing.
When I refreshed the story a few hours later to see if there were any updates, all of the references to the schizophrenic and his father had been deter from the story.
That caught my attention.
So I watched two hours of CNN tonight, and they talked about all sorts of details in his manifesto, but never mentioned one detail about why Dornan was dismissed
William Bratton was on both shows and said he had no recollection of the guy and seemed shifty and vague in all of his answers. No one asked Bratton any other questions about why he fired the guy, even though he said he had liked back through the files before the show to re-familiarize himself with the incident.
Given the history of the LAPD, Dornen's accusations of excessive force and racism are not hard to believe. That was standard operating procedure for many years.
We know dirty cops protect each other from whistleblowers, so the idea that Dornan got fired because he was causing trouble is not far-fetched.
Why would CNN not explore this aspect of the story ?
It fits a lot better into their anti-gun agenda to play this as a madman with a sniper rifle than to dig into the facts and find out that he was actually wronged and is looking for vengeance, although going about it the wrong way.
Much better for CNN's anti-gun crusade to give us another example of a psycho with an assault weapon to show why guns are scary and need to be taken away from average citizens.
Something is seriously rotten underneath this story, but no one in the media is talking about it.
Thank you! You speak much more eloquent and make more sense than I ! TRUTH THOUGH!! The guy is basically a freaked out martyr willing to die and kill to shine light on injustice...yes he's crazy and wrong to even take it that far.. but he's fuckin the LAPD and all POLICE up at the moment and the cops are acting like assholes....
...sure it won't last long though! Jus my opinion..I don't hate cops myself.....Good Post !!
Wow, talk about movie material. This guy has checked out of the game of life. Unbelievably scary stuff here.
He's looking to unearth some scary truths about the LAPD, and is willing to die in doing so. Can't get over the gravity of this situation. Stay SAFE out there, everyone!
It so wierd. Even if they didn't find his claim to be substantive without proof he was lying why would this get him fired? Especially because now it looks like he was telling the truth.
I get the chills every time i see our friends truck in the news. I can't believe they didn't get hurt worse or killed.
The whole situation is weird, I hope those two women get well.
No young men get shot "accidentally" and I agree seems like he has unearthed some truths.
There were two different shootings at the wrong people. One occurred in Torrance and the other in Hollywood. Apparently, whenever the police see a vehicle that matches the culprit's, they shoot without regard to who is inside the vehicle. That is crazy.
What makes these officers any different then they guy they are hunting? We almost had 3 homicides! No attempt to identify the people in the vehicles, what about police protocol to give a suspect a chance to surrender? The cops are scared cause they are the target. If this guys targets were construction workers or prostitutes, do you think they would just shoot any vehicle that looks vaguely similar? Like others have said, by no means can you condone or justify Dorners actions, but there seems to be some truths to what he is saying and the police actions yesterday are proving his point. Let's all watch while those officers involved yesterday get a slap on the wrist when they need to face criminal charges.

(1) Your speculation that this guy may have been fired out of retribution makes a lot of sense. I would like your questions to be answered as well.
(2) This has nothing to do with an anti-gun bias. It has to do with sensationalism. The sensational part is that an ex-cop has gone nuts and is shooting people not why he got fired and that police are not shooting innocent people believing they are him. Why he got fired is not sensational and does not help get viewers. Unfortunately, journalism is not what it used to be.
I saw two different Tundras pulled over on the way to work pulled over by the LAPD with shotguns drawn. I thought the pickup was set ablaze?
He's not an idiot. He wouldn't be driving the same car.
The latest I've seen is that he set the car ablaze in BB and are combing the area for him. It seems odd to me that he would take the fight to that arena, as I would think the urban environment would be his area of expertise and chosen battlefield.
