It looks like my boy isn't quite ready to totally retire. He wants to be a "place holder" until a special election can be held to fill Kerry's seat.
Hopefully Frank can be persuaded to run in that special election.
Former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who just left the House of Representatives Thursday after 32 years, said Friday that he has told Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) that he would like an interim appointment to fill the Senate seat that would open if Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) is confirmed as secretary of state. t interested.

I wouldn't appoint him to any position. Just retire Barney...just retire.
He said, very clearly, that he would not run in the special election during Morning Joe. I originally liked the idea. After thought, I am not so sure. I would like someone that will run in the special election to be nominated (e.g. Markey). That will give him a leg up.
