LOL...the article refers to Ralph as just an 'agent'. For over 3 decades, his agency represented just about every major lineman out there. He carved out quite a nice niche for himself. Actually ended up selling his agency to DeBartolo for over 100 million dollars.
Recently had lunch with Ralph and his bride in Santa Monica to discuss a broadcasting deal, during which the conversation was diverted to his comments about USC and Pete Carroll from a few years ago.
Bottom line, he couldn't or wouldn't implicate Pete or USC in any wrongdoing, in spite of his claims that USC players were driving Range Rovers and other high end cars [during the Bush era].
We finally got to the bottom of the problem, which primarily existed with unscrupulous agents within his own profession.
He did mention that certain coaches ( I promised to not rename) help facilitate these arrangements or willingly turn a blind eye when it becomes apparent what's going on. He can say that type of thing because he's never been accused of or involved in any wrongdoing, but some agents he's competed against for clients go down this road.
I suspect that's what we see going on here. Ralph still teaches a sports law course overseas to established attorneys looking to become agents, and clearly understands what's going on.
That's why you never see Saban call him out or have his own attorney send Ralph one of those threatening letters. He clearly doesn't want to go down that road with this guy, simply because it's a fight he's not going to win. Trust me.

Fight On!

brdcstr1,
I know that you and I have chatted about this before, but I see Cindrich as irresponsible in his proclamations. If you have have info then put it out there.
What is the message he is trying to put forth?
Cindrich is an internet tough guy...talks a mean game but doesn't do much about his claims. I have tangled with him before.
Obviously there are plenty of agents who will cross the line...so if Cindrich is such a crusader for his profession then he should put his cards on the table in an effort to clean the situation up. Otherwise he just comes off as bitter for no specific reason.

Agree, J.
Ralph is dealing with his recent irrelevance in a manner differently than I would.
What better way to amass more followers on twitter than telling people you have a secret, but not letting them in on it?
Thing is, Ralph DOES have the goods on these guys. He doesn't appear to be letting go of the slanderous statements Saban and others have made about agents, knowing full well these coaches willingly slow dance with the agents they then turn around and denigrate through the media.
He's also pissed because of the actions of a few, ALL agents have been made out to be slimeballs, which isn't in the case. Kinda like the way some folks perceive cops.
Another thing that perturbs him is the fact that a few VERY high profile coaches are deified through the media but wallow in the mud with these agents through intermediaries that insulate them from culpability.
