I wouldn't worry about it brother......it all works itself out. This IS the process.

If a recruit is afraid to come to USC because they'd have to compete for playing time..............they've already weeded themselves out without the coaches having to do any dirty work.

When they go elsewhere and face USC, they'll have to lineup against a more confident group of kids that they were afraid to compete with. Who do you think will have the advantage?

  • well in the last couple of years we've had a bunch of recruits bail out because they see we get another guy at there position and all the sudden they decommit and go somewhere else. i can think also of numerous guys that kept USC at there top 3 up until signing day and kept committing and decommitting to every school in the pac 12 without ever committing to USC. these kids have no backbone, they want a starting spot handed to them so they go somewhere else.

Back up your gossip with sources or else GTFO. IMHO. We've had a kid or two that might have gone that route, but the vast majority have not cited it as a significant factor.

With only one of the recruits that you listed did I catch a whiff of the competition at USC influencing their decision. I consider it an unsubstantiated rumor until a solid source backs it up. The rest all went elsewhere for reasons other then the competition at USC.

  • Just like PabloF said if they are affraid to commit because of competition by all means let them go thats not the kind of player we want. Also their have been few situations of that happening and your list that you have given is a bad example.

In a year were SC is lining up a recruiting class for the ages, stacked with some of the best talent from all across the nation, 3 top ten recruits by one service, potentially 15 all from the top 100, it is absolutely ABSURD to insinute that players are shying away from the competition developing on the Trojan squad.

Good lord. Both Arik and Ellis were steered away by their families, we stopped recruiting Payton/Mickens. Pio was replaced in favor of Williams. You were saying?

  • you guys all know its because of competition, its not hard to read that. the coaches let them know someone else is more important, so they are afraid of competition

    The It's vs. Its page

If you're confused by these two little words, you've come to the right place. (Not that there aren't other right places .)
It's is a contraction for it is or it has.

Its is a possessive pronoun meaning, more or less, of it or belonging to it.

And there is absolutely, positively, no such word as its'.

    A simple test

If you can replace it[']s in your sentence with it is or it has, then your word is it's; otherwise, your word is its.

    Another test

Its is the neuter version of his and her. Try plugging her into your sentence where you think its belongs. If the sentence still works grammatically (if not logically) then your word is indeed its.

    Examples

It's been good to know you. Contraction: it has
    It's a bird! It's a plane! Contraction: it is

The dodo bird is known for its inability to fly. Possessive pronoun: its inability = the dodo bird's inability

They were afraid of competition because they were essentially told there was no longer a spot for them? Interesting.
