  • ...with the idea of USC running four receiver sets...imagine: Woods, Lee, Farmer, and Agholor blasting off the line, and Matt yelling, "Go long!"...

Thus setting-up the occasional hand-off to mighty mouse thru some gaping holes...

    What a dream...

that would negate two of our best mismatches in telfer and grimble.

agree ! i could see LK using the 4 wr set once in awhile but i cant see him going away from the TE set thats the bread and butter of his Offense it creates so many mis-matches

  • But to be honest I think CLK will mix it up a little. On different plays Have agholor and Lee in or a 3WR set Lee Woods and or Agholor,Farmer?

  • We honestly could go 5 WR one play and then go 3 TE (like Stanford this year) on the next play. That's how much talent is at those two positions.

Think about A 5 WR set with Woods Farmer Lee Agholor and Rogers or Blackwell Fucla should've signed 50 more DB's

  • Would like to see Kif use our TE's like New England uses Gronk and Hernandez and also have speed on the outside with Woods/Lee.

after the game is in control, like 50 - 0, i want to see the use of the swinging gate formation on a non-two point conversion play

  • We might need to petition the NCAA to have two balls on offense, just so Barkley can spread it around more. This offense is gonna be ridiculous in 2012! And if Woods does indeed come back in 2013, then whoever plays QB will be in heaven!

  • I was discussing this with a friend of mine the other day. With Farmer potentially taking some snaps at RB next year, we have the potential for mismatches based upon what the defense gives us. If we have Lee and Woods at WR, Telfer and Grimble at TE, and Famer at RB, the team can line up in power formations with 2 TE sets or spread it out with 5 wide. With Barkley at the helm, I expect to see the team run some no-huddle offense which doesn't allow the defense to make personnel changes. If the defense plays nickel or dime, we can line it up and play smash ball football. If they play a base defense, we can spread it out where a LB or S is forced to cover Farmer in man coverage.

This is me thinking about next year's offense woot

Agree with all of this and would add that NA will be used the same way I believe. He will be deadly out of the backfield bs a linebacker.

It is frustrating as when people start dreaming up all kinds of scenarios with each of our new 17-18 year old 4-5 stars as if they were all going to magically leapfrog the 20 - 22 year old 4 and 5 stars who already know the playback. Yes, it happens. But it is extremely rare - even when down 10 players.

I would rather run the offense thats won 10.9 games a year for us since 2002. That offense utilizes tight ends and fullbacks.

Would be awsome if one of our dudes was over 6'1''.... better off with a 10yard up the field route and letting those dudes work their YAC magic.

Hear, hear! I think the pro style works well for Barkley. However, certainly can do some platooning and fly fresh legs down field on play action.

I also REALLY hope CLK will not use Woods to return kicks, and rather use one of the other skilled players. Woods was getting kinda beat down last year.
