Who will be the #2 QB

  • I like Cody, from what I hear he is the best decision maker and has a rocket. He's also a real athlete if he wasn't playing football could play D1 bball.

    Schomer 92627

  • I believe it will be Kessler.

  • And Scroggins?

kessler. Seems to be the most accurate and mobile of the QB's we have right now

  • Kessler hands down IMO

    trinity

  • My best guess is that the next two USC QBs will be Cody Kessler and Max Browne.

  • Kessler. In addition to what everyone else has said, he had (and I'm assuming still has) the firmest grasp of the playbook heading into spring ball.

  • Jesse Scroggins if he gets his shyte together off the field ... c'mon Jesse fulfill your commitment to show everyone what Jesse can do. Late to a fricking meeting ... geeeezzz .. get it together. Jesse is a very accurate passer and has the best throwing motion IMO as well as smooth footwork and he can run if required, but a pocket passer first. I can't think off hand of an NFL QB he is like. He is unique IMO. Maybe an Aaron Rogers type of QB. Great arm putting velocity with accuracy on the ball. Jesse needs to develop the mental understanding of an Aaron Rogers, which I believe he can do and do it well.

Max & Cody are opposites IMO in their physique and style of play.

Max is accurate in his passes, he has a nice high release in addition to his height, decent footwork ... smooth, and he handles the ball well. He does well short to intermediate range. I have not really seen him throw long to judge his long ball velocity and accuracy. Max seems to me like a Tom Brady, more of a pocket passer than Jesse or Cody who both can run well outside the pocket. I would hazard a guess that Max is smart and uses his head well analyzing the game as a Tom Brady.

Cody is more like a Tim Tebow with better passing capabilities. He is built like Tim and he can run well when necessary. He seems to throw with a three quarter arm delivery and can at times like Matt did before he raised his release, get air under the ball and it sails on him high. This can be fixed as Matt worked on his higher release and improved his passing dramatically. The QB coach in the videos is harping constantly on raising the release point & coming more with an overhead arm motion. Cody is a beast of a physical specimen, seems to be a good leader and like all the QBs I find him a likable young man.

Outsider, where did you hear that Max was known for accuracy and analyzation? Every account that I have seen or read has showed that his accuracy isn't very good and he is having trouble with the speed of the college game, but has a rocket arm.

Cody is the one who has been constantly praised for his accuracy.

  • The Scroggins train is leaving the station. Its safe to say that he is behind Kessler and Wittek, and it definitely isn't a good sign that he's in his 3rd year in the program, a critical year for him to make an impression as the successor to Barkley, and he's pissing it away by being late to meetings and rolling the field. Maybe he pulls it together, but the chances of him passing the other 2 are slim IMO.

That might be the most positive appraisal of Jesse's ability and/or potential that I've ever read.

Haha Cody is not like a Tebow at all. Coming out of high school Cody was said to have one of the top arms in the country. I doubt Kiff is recruiting Tebow types that can't throw the ball and make it in a pro style system.

HaHa yourself .... I was referring to his build and running ability, I said he is a better passer than Tim.

I do not believe is arm is one of the best in the country ... it is decent.

He can improve his throwing motion and the flight of his ball.

He has very good potential, but he is not there yet.

Great comparison video. Jesse is right up there in accuracy to Matt.

    Up vote for you, sir!
