If true, that another school convinced the DB recruit to delay his commitment, they may have, very likely, cost that recruit a spot at the school that they most wanted.

I understand the cutthroat nature of recruiting, but that is pretty sad for said recruit. As we have seen in the past, when you get someone that really wanted to go elsewhere, they never quite fit in or perform they way that they would if they were at the place that really made them happy.
