  • That is great news! Thanks Scott. What are the main position needs in 2014? Are we looking at defensive line, linebacker, and tight end?

    Thanks again!

  • Thanks Scott. Wouldn't be surprise if the 2014 class would be half way full by early next year. With SC leading for the elite recruits from Serra and Salesian high school

  • He already has ideal USC OT size and he just finished his sophomore year! baby

Looks like 1/5 of the '14 class will be filled up soon, all with OL guys! banana

  • We are really going after offensive tackles for 2014 class. After we missed on Peat and Murphy the staff is making sure we got the best early on board. Very nice...

Not Scott but I think SC would need for sure a elite MLB

  • Don't know too much about 2014 prospects but Scott, do you think we lead for any of the following?

TE Tyler Luatua (USC/Bama battle I've heard)
    ATH Marquis Ware
    LB Jamardre Cobb
    CB Adoree Jackson
    LB Dwight Williams
RB Nathan Stark out of Bishop Gorman

If we could get all these guys, along with Tucker, to go along with Poland and Lobendahn, oooh wee!

Kid is a beast. Here's his highlight tape. Hopefully we can tap into the Bishop Gorman pipeline again

I think we need to see how 2013's class shakes out - but OT is definitely going to be a need.

Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!

  • Pretty much need to commit early if you're an OL recruit now. Only taking three and 2 spots are already taken. Snoozin is loozin if you don't grab that offer when you have the opportunity. Sounds like a great kid to me. Come on down!

Haven't heard much hype about Scoby, but his film is pretty impressive. Looks like Jonathan Stewart or Curtis McNeal on steroids. http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1186309.html Going into his junior year, he is probably the strongest RB in the country.

Not too convinced about Nevada state competition but it seemed to have worked fine for DeMarco Murray.

Solid clip. Definitely a great motor as evidenced in the 1:48 mark.... That defender must have been dragged 20 yards trying to bring him down.

Dont know who it is, but I'm sure the fact that you keep complaining about it isn't helping your case. Saying it once was enough.

  • It's like an embarrassment of riches right now.

Definitely making up for the two misses at signing day for the '12 recruiting class.

At this rate, we may have the 2013 class done before the season even starts, and could have two thirds of the 2014 recruiting class on board by the 2013 NSD in February.

The biggest worry right now is securing new deal to lock up our staff with Coach O, Cregg, Baxter, and Polamalu.

Bishop Gorman travels all over the country. Check out their schedule for the upcoming season http://bishopgorman.org/Page.aspx?pid=461; one of the best programs in the country in Our Lady of Good Council, Hawaii powerhouse St. Louis, one of New Jersey's best in Bergen Catholic, and Servite. Without a doubt the toughest out of league schedule in the entire country. Gorman kids are almost always legit.

Yep. I like that MO: "Peat and Murphy, you’re out? Alright. No worries. Hey, Tucker, we got an elite LT opportunity at an elite private school with top notch academics and a phenomenal, post-grad network. Not to mention that if you want to go the NFL, and we think you have the tools, then SC and its staff are your best bet out West, practically nationally for that matter. What’s that, Tucker? Stanford? Yeah, I mean sure, I can understand the perception of late; but that’s just it: it’s only recently that they’ve gotten on the map. But I have to say, the staff here at SC and the tradition here speak for itself in terms of being your best bet for your NFL goals. I think even Stanford, if you talk to them honestly, say, at a bar, will even admit that SC is light years beyond them for linemen and developing for the NFL. It’s not even close.”

No, the conversation never happened; but it may as well have! tongue

Very nice, indeed, Torjanseij1! Agree 100%

I was personally told by Baxter at a rally "I'm not going anywhere," but obviously, success would make it likely that we lose a few of the others.
