  • No backup QB listed. It's still a battle between Kessler and Wittek........perhaps Scroggins?

  • Scroggins will be the back up. I'm still pulling for him. Now, since that is out the way. I don't know why Robert and Nickell are running punts and kicks. I would think with the way Robert got hurt last year, you would want someone else returning kicks and punts. But then again, if CLK wants that, I'm all in

  • Surprised that both Simmons and Tuerk as listed at guards. Hopefully one can play tackle or USC will really need to find some tackles in this class. Ruffin is also listed as a MLB, which is surprising.

  • Our back 7 looks nasty!!
Hopefully the Dline stays healthy and plays well. If so, this D could dominate!

    Pitzrrr

  • Biggest surprise: Starr at 2nd team MLB. I thought one of the older guys(Kelley or Andrew) would be #2.

Agree about Woods (and to some extent Nickell).

I don't want Robert anywhere near Special Teams. I'm sure with all the dynamic play-makers that we have, that LK can find someone else to return punts and kicks...

  • I thought A. Woods had the inside track for NT? I guess him and J.R will rotate out so much it doesn't really matter. I expect Woods to take that starting spot come fall

  • It is interesting that Cody Kessler is listed as the back up holder and Max Wittex is not.

I am surprised the coaches are not considering other players at punt returner and kick returner. USC needs to krp Robert Woods and Nickell Robey healthy.

The back up offensive line worries me. If Aundrey Walker and Marcus Martin leave early for the NFL USC will be in trouble since Kevin Graf and John Martinez will be graduating. USC would be replacing four starters on the offensive line in two seasons. Having no other offensive tackle to develop is not good.

What happened to the walk on running back Kamaron Germany?

why interesting? i would think that cody's mobility would be a huge benefit as holder. jump out of the crouch and run...

That means we have to go through another season of the PAT being that weird spread out formation then re-group for the kick thing.
Ugh....that was the main thing that bothered me last year....

    of the playbook.

If Cody Kessler is the back up holder that may mean Max Wittex may not be used as a holder and this may reflect on the back up quarterback position. The coaches may like Cody Kessler as the back up holder due to his ability and knowledge. I would think having one of the back ups as the holder would give them experience let the starter rest.

    also interesting

Yup. I was under the impression Wiley locked down the spot. Harris hasn't played in over a half a year, yet he still has an "or" by his name for the 1st team spot. I thought Wiley looked better in actual games too.

Starling OR Wright is also interesting. I thought Jawanza outshined Demetrius at the Spring game? Not that the depth chart is based on one game, but Starling also started the previous two years and played very well the second half of last season.

I thought Tuerk was an OT, Townsend a DT and Ruffin a WLB.

No "ors" with the RBs. I figured it would be Morgan OR Allen, despite Morgan having game experience. Probably has to do with Allen missing quite a few Spring practices.

No "or" to include Scroggins at the #2 QB spot. Maybe a way for Kiffin to tell him to get his shit together?

I know Starr played with the 2s at the Spring game, but it sounded like Andrew had a better Spring overall.

No Tavai OR Woods is interesting, since Woods got to play with the 1s on Saturday. Tavai played last year as a true frosh, but Woods' starting led me to believe it was at least an "or" situation for now.

Obviously things can, and probably will, change in the Fall.

    Adamson651

  • I wouldnt worry too much about KOR with the new rule changes. There shouldnt be too many returns and I'm sure there'll be changes in the fall.

Not sure wassup with the cb spot, Riley seems to be the man, but they probably wanted to give Baucham credit for a good spring, and they didnt want to punish THarris for getting hurt last year. No offense to THarris, but he should not get PT above those other 2 or anthony brown. His play has not impressed me at all.

As far as AWoods, I really think they're sending him a message. His weight was not acceptable when he came in, and it still isnt. They want him down around 300 and he's got some work to do to get there, but his play in the spring is really encouraging. Would not be surprised to see him get the starting job with Tavai backing up both interior positions. At this point, not sure where Heyward stands with his shoulder.
