I don't think Kiffin cares much about EEs at this point given that 2 of our first 3 commits will be EEs and there seem to be plenty of other EE candidates left on the board.

The more the merrier, but he won't take someone just to fill an EE space when there is just 1 more space to back fill.

EE isn't just about utilizing scholarships...CLK in the past has said that if he could get an entire class to EE that would be preferable. The more guys you have in the spring the more time they have to get familiar with academic work load, the playbook, and overall reps.

Yes, there are added benefits of having EEs (would not be possible to take a full class of them BTW), but LK isn't going to offer a lower level recruit just because he is an EE at this point.

My guess is LK sees Cox as a USC level player whether he was an EE or not.

  • kiffin is killing it. this guy is versatile. seems like kiffin loves the multi-position players under the sanctions of 75 players only

  • Bough doesn't get the offer but Cox does on offense? I wouldn't have guessed that.

I agree it's a bit perplexing - but they know what they're doing. It's really nice those rare times in life that you can just trust the coaching staff.

For instance, with the commitment of Steen we basically got a 3 star player (by my evaluation) with a ton of upside without using a scholarship. The net effect is we're now playing with 76 instead of 75 for the next 4 years. It's brilliant.

  • Cox was apparently offered for offense but he's the number 8 MLB per scout. Its the opposite of perplexing to me. To me it's crystal clear. Like inthe the movie "a few good men". Clear captain? Crystal

  • Big kid with pretty darn good speed...don't know much about him, but I wonder if he is somewhat like a Tre Madden. According to rivals, has 4.53 speed. His size is a little bigger than Ty Isaac.

He's considerably bigger than Madden, looks like he could easily play at 250+. As far as being as athletic, he can definitely move for a big kid but I wouldn't expect him to get carries at the next level.
