  • I have no idea. IMHO he is all USC

since when was there loyalty in pro football?

Totally agree. There is little loyalty in the pros, and I understand what the wrestling coach was trying to convey, but a poor choice of words.

I don't envy what Silas will be walking into tomorrow.

A tweet from the PSU wrestling coach to Silas:

"@MomentOfSilas25 NFL stock goes way up if u stay. Any smart organization takes a great &loyal team player over a great player#Truth #WeAre!!"

so when some powerhouse college in wrestling like Iowa, for example come calling for him to be their head coach.lets see if it still rings true.

PSU is the powerhouse in wrestling. Two time defending NCAA champs.

    Oh, great.

You mean PSU is best at grown men cavorting about and playing grab-ass in in tight fitting nylons?

    Not good.

It’s kind of like saying Saban will get recruited away when a big time program like Notre Dame comes calling (alright, maybe not that bad). PSU is coached by Cael Sanderson, the only wrestler to go undefeated all 4 years in college. They’re back to back defending NCAA champs, and Taylor (So), Ruth (So), and Molinaro (Sr) finished 1-2-3 for the Dan Hodge Trophy. And they have Morgan MacIntosh coming up too who is the most dominant wrestler I think I’ve seen in HS in CA. From a wrestling perspective, PSU is the place to be right now.

Edit: How that qualifies Sanderson to be an expert on the NFL draft is another matter...

Um, no. As long as Cael is there they will be at the top. Dude was arguably the greatest college wrestler of all time, he has the undefeated record to prove it. Will do for PSU what Gable did for Iowa.

What about the Junkyard Dog ?

    Wasn't he undefeated ?

    Chief Jay Strongbow ?

Andre the Giant had to have been undefeated right ?

    LOL.

Yep, but it was his last collegiate match so he it wasn't really noticed as he took it out on international competition where wrestling is only popular to die-hards.

Lost to a U-dub guy I think, proving once again, the Pac owns the B1G when it counts lol

Um, yes. "Johnny come lately" describes a program that has just recently joined the elite ranks ... like PSU the last couple of years. Oklahoma State is by-far the most dominant wrestling program in the nation, followed by Iowa.

After reading his wikipedia page, I'm REALLY surprised that he left the HC position at his alma mater (Iowa State) for PSU.

    Weird.

It was a no brainer so to speak... think of it as similar to Lane leaving Tenn for SC. The NE is stacked with top wrestling talent and selling PSU is way easier then trying to get kids out to Ames Iowa. Probably could have been successful at either place, when a legend walks into your living room, hard to say no.
