Damn, really a major is what is going to stop this!?!? Education first of course but ouch.

We need some RB depth.

My understanding is he is an advertising major.

USC offers an advertising minor:

So he could come in as a communications major at Annenburg with a minor in advertising and/or marketing. Seems like a servicable alternative. The Annenburg is a great school!

I was a Marketing major with an emphasis in Advertising...there are a number of paths (sales, product management, advertising, etc) under the Marketing Major at Marshall -- or, at least there used to be.

Can't we sign him up for one of those University of Phoenix online courses in advertising and let him use the USC classrooms to study?

No one really knows but I think it would. I think the way it would work would be:

- He comes in and we play a year at 76 players.

- He leaves for the NFL. Our incoming recruiting class (2013) takes the scholarship hit so we can only bring in 17 (14 plus 3 EEs) and have to be down to 74 (counting for Redd even though he leaves).

- The next recruiting class would be back up to 15 and 75. Assuming Redd leaves we might be able to use that scholarship he took up for the 2013 class as an EE scholarship for the 2014 incoming class (again, I'm not sure, but it would make sense if we have to count his scholarship within the 2013 recruiting class).

What about possibly taking a scholarship from a former walk-on, like Will Andrew or one of the Juco guys that we brought in?

IIRC, schollys are awarded sometime in June, no?

Besides, USC doesn't need the PR hit - or negative reputation - for ANY player.

Future recruits would then have good reason to look at a USC offer with a jaundiced eye.
