This is just the ncaa trying to be seen. They seem to love high profile cases in which the media takes a great interest. Just last they were saying not much could be done because there was no precedence or specific rules for such a case. If not for the media storm Penn St wouldn't have any sanctions.
If the ncaa is genuine in their decision, lets see what type of preventative measures they take for future cases. Not only for coaches/admin but for student athletes who also break the law.

Will NCAA self-impose sanctions on itself for lack of control in naming Graham Spanier to chair Emmert's Group on Athlete Welfare? Hmmm.

It's difficult to comprehend how anyone would think it right to hide child abuse, in any form...much less to hide it to protect a damn football program?
Unbelievable.
Although the children are the first and only real concern...there are also innocent people in that large Penn State family that did nothing to merit this. No one will feel bad for them.
I hope our own fans stay on this board and not feel the need to join the jackals we all know will flood their forums after the announcement Monday morning.

Covering up child sex abuse, indirectly destroying lives, all for the greater good of Penn St football. That should be enough to bar them from The NCAA forever in all sports, not that that is what I'm calling for... Nothing that's done to the Athletic Dept or University should be looked at as too harsh or unjust...
