On Espnu Ex Miami coach Randy Shanon Said he was recruting a kid from Southern California and The kid wanted to go to The U but his mother wanted him close to home and stay at SC, So he stood at SC and had a good career what Kid was this?

Heard that too...At first I thought Jalen Grimble but then he said he stayed at USC. Jurrell Casey? I remember he had a teammate who went to Miami..but interesting to hear.

Did he say if it was when he was a head coach? that could narrow it down
I don't remember a lot of recruiting battles between Miami and SC when Shannon was HC
