  • Are the Penn State loyalists taking Texas apart like they were us???!! Or are we everyone's primary demon....

Haven't heard a single remark regarding Texas, CAL, Oklahoma(my heavens have you got to see the Kiffin threads on their board...yet they are going hard after WR Justin Brown), or even Illinois who sent half their staff to camp out on the PSU campus.

  • Someone please catch me up. Who has transferred besides Redd and Fera?

Khairi Fortt to CAL. There are a handful of other guys who are leaving, but have not yet chosen a destination.

Not saying that it's the media didn't jump on the USC and Silas Redd story but Silas was a leader on the team. The kicker leaving has a smaller effect on the team's moral and overall competitiveness.

  • Where's the outrage at Georgia? Man, PSU is gonna hurt for a while!

Georgia notified Penn State of its interest in 19 players | UGA sports blog

ATHENS -- As it turns out, Georgia informed Penn State of its interest in 19 of the Nittany Lions' football players. That's according to a letter dated

Illinois was worse. Check out Oklahoma boards, they have been worse about this than even Penn State fans and OU is going hard after WR Justin Brown.

Now I see why I was reading about PSU crawling with other coaching staffs.

Of course not, but the psu fan base was gassed by espn's constant over-reporting of the story. secpn started CFL with Silas redd info everyday and wrote numerous articles/updates on Redd from the time it was announced he was considering USC until he officially transferred. That's 7 days of straight Silas Redd with the other transfers barely getting mentioned.

  • He was a big contributor for PSU, on kick-offs, place-kicks and punts. He will be sorely missed.

I know people usually question the importance of kickers, but this guy was very, very good.

  • Who can blame any of these kids? Who the hell would want to be associated with that program after what Sandusky and Paterno did? By national signing day, I bet that class dries up. Penn St should have pulled the plug on the program on their own.

  • It's the same order of events as when it happened at USC, First everyone is staying and then the dominoes start to fall.

I and many other PSU loyalists would not say your team nor your fan base are demons. SI had to make a choice and do what is best for himself and for his future. It is obvious with the present sanctions and all of the distractions from the NCAA making an example out of PSU that this was not the place for him. I don't fault him nor do I fault your coaching staff for recruiting him. The NCAA made the rules and we have to live by them.

Of course you are going to have rage from the fan base, because like SC fans PSU fans are very passionate about their school and their football team. The PSU Alums, Players, students and fans have always taken pride in doing things the right way only to find out that behind the scenes a few evil men were destroying the lives of innocent children. This of course is always going to be something we will never forget. And the NCAA has shown they are going to make an example out of the program and do everything they can to destroy the program. So we take offense when someone states we don't graduate players or our players do not have integrity, because we all know that is false.

We will be cheering Redd on and I hope he becomes the number 1 back for you guys. He is very talented and has a great work ethic. I will also be hoping that the next PSU back will step up and fill Redds spot and rush for 1000 yards.

Here's to you guys having a great year.

Well-said. We know that 'hurt' and it's debilitating to say the least.

It's a long road back; but the true fans, in conjunction with the alumni base that support PSU, will truly help the players, program and university, too---you can't see it yet, but the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel awaits.
