Don't care about losing Texas. Losing Oklahoma could be a huge problem. Amazing that we let Utah decide our fate while they take all our money.

Agreed... Get rid of colorodo and Utah along with Arizona and Washington state for gosh sakes.. What a bad move!!!!! This will end up being the biggest miss in college football history up to this point

  • Would have liked Oklahoma, nix on Texas....horns not worth the drama and the poison they bring.

Getting rid of Arizona doesn't make sense academically. Oregon State, Washington State, and Arizona State are the bottom of the barrel in that category.

For now I think all is still good and realignment will eventually happen in some capacity for the Pac-12. Would have liked to see OU join the conference, though.

You don't think we've missed out on Oklahoma (and Texas) for good?

I can't see us adding anyone even close to the caliber of those schools if we don't do it now.

Exactly. We would NEVER get rid of another AAU school (UofA). ASU, on the other hand, is a glorified trade school.

This is actually bad for the AZ schools since they would've been the main beneficiaries of Texas recruiting, IMO.

But I'm glad we didn't cave to UT's demands. I was upset enough that we were willing to go with the idiotic pod system.

If OU was smart, they'd recruit Mizzou and Kansas to join the PAC (both AAU schools).

It may not be over yet. But if it is....the confernce made a major mistake with okie. I understand and agree with not caving to unequal revenue with Texas....but okie was willing to come without Texas and CU, Utah and az schools shot it down over la trips.

Academically, though, Texas is the big get. You'd have to think the Presidents would want that.

Personally I think all the crap about the Longhorn Network is overblown.

Absolutely they would, but Texas wants to have a different rev sharing structure than the rest of the conference? No freaking way.

You want to be a part of the Pac, UT? Then you come in as an equal or you can kick rocks in the Texas Conference with Baylor and TCU. See ya!

Have there been projections of the revenue that the LHN will bring when compared to the contract and numbers the P12 currently has?

  • Time for SC to go Independent, get it's own TV network, schedule whoever they want to, and screw everybody else. They'll all be knocking on our door to play ball.

Well, at least Coach Mckay threatened the first part anyway.

USC can't leave. If USC left tomorrow, PAC would keep all of USC's media rights until 2023

I was kidding around. Don't think we should go anywhere. Leave the conferences alone. Just come up with a 16 team playoff.

  • I kind of knew htis would happen.. Texas wants everything to be on their terms and IF SC has had to be on equal financial terms as the rest pf the Pac 12... Texas should aswell... Oklahoma needs to look out for what's best for them... and the way I see it.. if they come into the Pacific Conference... it would be a very wise move!

This thing is FAR from over. Walking away from the negotiations showed them we were going to lead with our head, instead of our emotions.

This was designed to show them who's the boss and primary shotcallers.

Give Texas and Oklahoma another year in the crumbling b12, and they'll be like atheists when they die, All dressed up, with no place to go.

  • this is a power play by larry scott, its going to make texas explore other options ans once they do the pac will then take OU and OSU, along with TT and TCU most likely. I think the school that is really getting the shaft in all this is Boise State. They just continue to show they are as good as anybody, and they cant even get invited to the dance. Its tragic.

  • Some of you are being extremely shortsighted in this. Texas brings as many negatives as they would positives. No way should the conference agree to get f*cked with no vaseline ala the old SWC and Big 12. Texas is a luxury, not a necessity.

And no way would the Pac 12 ever take Texas Tech and TCU on their own. Not a freakin' chance.

    caliman

  • This isn't about Texas, it is about OU imo.

Not taking OU will haunt the PAC12 in the future.
