Oregon's 'National Championship' rings

  • On a video walkthrough of Oregon's locker room, QB Bryan Bennett made sure to highlight a painting on the ceiling of their locker room.

    The painting highlighted Oregon's National Championship ring.

    Yup, a ring for PLAYING in the National Championship. Only at Oregon, lol.

    Good God...can those quackers be any more pathetic? How embarrassing is that?

    I thought only the SEC (Auburn), gave their players "peoples champs" accolades for not playing (quacks - losing), a National Championship game.

  • Pathetic. Almost as bad as the punching bags with all time wins. You shouldn't put that up when another team uses you as a punching bag.

  • Not that it should be something celebrated, but it is UO and they used to be terrible. They have had a decent run for them but they will never be USC.flex

  • You know, one time I had this job interview for a really really important position. I got ready, made myself look nice in my pretty new suit and did my best. It seemed to be going well for a while but all of the sudden I ended up throwing up and shitting myself. I then curled up into a little ball and cried for the rest of the interview.

    I didn't end up getting the job but my parents made me some nice, fake business cards that made it LOOK like I had gotten the job. They said it would help me to make believe and fit in with my friends who actually have jobs.

  • It's definitely difficult to cheer for them, or respect them....every freakin' thing they do is over the top, gimmicky and obnoxious. Even their owner, Uncle Phil...there is just something very creepy there...give the university the money, costumes and everything else he does..then like like any loyal alum, step back and let the university run the program and build respect with your generosity.

    Just sit back quackies, enjoy your victories, respect others and let the accolades come to you. They do none of that, and that is why they're not respected. I would be nice to sincerely welcome another program into the fold of west coast CFB powers.

    I doubt if the losing Super Bowl rings have the word "Champions" on them. I don't mind the idea of a participant ring ... but I think "Participant" should be in big letters on the ring.

  • Their punching bags only list how many times they've beaten a team – not their record against those teams. I guess they don't want a row of punching bags reminding them that they've been the punchee more often than the puncher against most teams.

    Also, the date on the USC punching bag is 11.19.11. Guess which team got punched and which team "won the day" that night?

    It's not done in college by the old powers...only an SEC team that also throws tractor pull parade for "almost"....then sends the only real championship trophy they win, on a Walmart tour, lol.

    I doubt they do too, but the ring says National Championship.
