Ohio State-Georgia series canned

  • This is kind of comical to me.
This home-and-home wasn't until 2020-2021 and OSU is already backing out.
B1G schools only play 8 conference games. Even if you add on 1 game vs a Pac-12 foe, that still leaves 3 OOC games to schedule.
I guess teams just don't want to schedule semi-tough OOC games anymore.
Plus, who knows how good/bad UGA will be 8 years from now.
Kind of wimpy by OSU in my books.

Ohio State has canceled a home-and-home series with Georgia because of the upcoming Big Ten/Pac-12 scheduling partnership.

  • Meyer never played a tough OOC game while he was at FL, either.

    Not surprising.

  • I am actually suprised UGA didn't back out, since they already play a usually decent Ga Tech team every year.

I think UGA gets a pass from me along with Tenn and LSU from the SEC for scheduling decent OOC competition. They do schedule the little sisters of the poor but they try to play some decent OOC opponents too.

LSU may have had aggressive OOC scheduling before, but it looks like they are making up for that and going weak:

Hello. Geesh, both the PAC and BIG facing off with each other down the road may mean we (USC) has to make some changes as well...the Buckeyes have a solid reason to back out.

Don't you think Georgia might have ended up doing the same anyway, with the BIG-12/SEC thing?

Look for tOSU to schedule Columbus High, Akron and The Ohio Preparatory Academy for the next 5 years. Meyer loves to keep with the SEC tradition.

Don't understand why Georgia would back out of a regular season game with Ohio State, when there is a deal for the SEC & Big-12 champs to play in a bowl game....

Using the same logic, USC should back out of our game with Texas in 2017/2018 because the Pac-12 and Big-10 champs play in the Rose Bowl....
