  • Considering a visit to USC as per Adam Gorney

Adam Gorney ‏@adamgorney Nkemdiche said he's considering official visits to #USC and #Oregon http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruiting-football/no-1-will-likely-take-visits-1106045?NICK_NAME=Adam+Gorney&LEVEL=2&TIME=1343348339&SIG=495fb706b69a8ad6cee12808071fe46b

  • I would not be surprised, if the USC 2013 class solidifies during the season, that USC does the unusual and limits visits of others, even though many times, USC doesn't get those recruits but they go back and tell their friends and other teammates about the glories of USC. Its always good PR to welcome those who are strong commits elsewhere, but maybe the reverse will be equally effective, enhancing the value of an offer from USC

  • No, and no matter how good of an athlete he is. I don't think he has the character to be a Trojan. One man does not make a team, and I don't think he would jell with our current class.

You think this based off of what?

Just curious. I don't know anything about the guy.

  • Let's see here... He committed to Clemson... After they offered two of his teammates and accepted their commitments... After Clemson surrendered 70+ points to West Virginia... Over Alabama, LSU, and USC... Pardon me if I think this kid may have his head up his ass.

The way he has yanked around Clemson. The way he yanked around the other teams he's been looking at. He's bought into his own hype, and that type of attitude goes against the type of players already at USC, and the recruits we're bringing in. Great talent, but I think he belongs somewhere else.

I don't know, maybe I'm just being naive, but I always felt Nkemdiche had been getting a bad rap for the whole teammate scholly situation. From the quotes I read he didn't tell Clemson to offer his teammate or he'd decommit. He just said if they did then he'd be completely solid and would have no reason to look around. And because Of that, I don't think he's a low character kid.

First, Bigs was our first commit, he never threatened to decommit if we didn't offer, he didn't jerk us around to get Rodgers commitment either. Did Rodgers help us, probably, but he has displayed solid character. On the other hand, this guy has been shady, painted Clemson in a corner, and is probably doing this to apply pressure to Clemson to get them to offer his other team mate. He tried it with Alabama first, and was turned down flat. Not only has he done this but he's back to flirting with other schools in the SEC, and now trying to involve teams from the Pac as far as I can tell. It's not wrong to be cautious, nor is it wrong to be skeptical when given reason. Get off the high horse. Look at his history. I don't feel he's worth the risk, if your opinion differs, that's fine. No need for the sarcasm.

Nkemdiche never threatened to decommit either though. All he said was that it would solidify his decision. Hell, Bigelow is my favorite recruit in the class and even he had a tweet where he said that if he wasn't committed that Auburn would be leading.

I think you're spot on with this, and that's likely the best case scenario with him visiting.

He isn't coming to USC, but there's no harm in letting him take a look and possibly spreading the good word. Every school wants to be the 'it' program with the buzz in recruits heads. SC is one of the top two or three of those nationally, and continually making a strong impression with big time players pays dividends down the line even if a lot of them don't wind up playing here.

  • I don't know about any of this Clemson stuff, but I am fairly clise to someone who is a teacher and coach at Grayson High School. He doesn't coach football.
He says Robert Nkemdiche is the best kid he has ever been around, and he has known him for three years + years.
I plan on attending as many Grayson games as I can this year

  • I hope Robert comes out here, falls in love with USC, the coaching staff and players. Would be HUGE if Kiffin and Orgeron flipped this young man to our 2013 class.
