You'r right. People are believing what the parents said after as a way to save face, but the video doesn't lie.
The kid can't happily attend UCLA if he publicly says he wanted USC and his parents forced him to UCLA. The only thing to say to the public was kid wanted UCLA.

What is written isn't always the truth, but it was the only way to spin it if Torian was going to end up at UCLA.
Imagine how Torian would be received by his teammates and the UCLA fans (if they exist) if the family publicly said "Torain wants USC, family wants UCLA, Torian is attending UCLA."
