    Includes Absentee Trojan's suggestions
    Includes JCakus's suggestions

*Please provide numbers to player ratings instead of saying higher or lower.*

    Notes (5/10/12)
Rosters roughly mimic depth chart post Spring Game.
Kept Devian Shelton since he's on CLK's depth chart, lowered his ranking to what I remember high 3/low 4 star recruits are usually. (I typically have double digit CB's in my dynasties.)

    Added LB Andrew
Added LB/RB Tre Madden with no rating at this time (Have him currently at RB)
    Added S McAllister
    Added G Galten
    Added T Guertler and Garness
    Added TE Thomas

Cut Albarado, Steen, Temple and Wheeler

Moved Tuerk to Guard, Di Paolo to Center

Failed to add FB Hunter Simmons, LB Dallas Kelley, LS Peter McBride

  • I swear I was gonna do a thread on this last week. Nice list. Robey will probably be rated higher and Bauchman way lower.

  • The NCAA ratings are usually insanely inaccurate. Barkley will be an 99, Jesse Scroggins will be a 44, John Manoogian will be an 89.

Robert Woods will be a 95, but George Farmer will be rated higher than Marqise Lee and Kyle Prater will still be on the team. Agholor will only exist in parallel dimensions.

Curtis McNeal will be 6'2" and Heidari will be black and have dreadlocks...

ETA: really good list btw - that's what the player ratings *should* be, more or less.

  • Looks pretty similar to the roster I made a few weeks back on the 2012 game. I changed all the guys' years, turned Seniors into Freshmen, etc. I referenced Freshmen from this past season when trying to decide ratings for next year's Freshmen and many of them were in the 70s (even top guys). So, some of your Freshmen ratings might be a little high. TJ McDonald might be rated higher than 93. Not sure Barkley will be 99, I don't think Luck was even 99 in the most recent game.

  • I hate how the game allows two players to wear the same number (ex: McDonald and Barkley will both have their correct jersey number), but you can't edit guys with the wrong number to have their right number, if it is already in use. Sometimes you have to have guys out on the field wearing retired numbers, it pisses me off rant

Luck was a 99 in last year's game. They always seem to rate the top QB that high.

My bad, I thought I remember him being a 97.

  • I agree with your list, but I'm sure EA will screw us. Guys like Aundrey Walker haven't really seen the field yet, so will be rated lower.

Ya, giving Woods a 89 rating last year was the stupidest thing ever.....even he commented on how fucked up it was.

  • T.J. McDonald should be higher. You are missing Christian Thomas in the tight ends and Will Andrews at middle linebacker.

Look who the Left Tackle is in that video. Seems they made a video before even updating rosters.

Really great list. I would change a bit though:

    TE: Add Christian Thomas
    OT: Delete Chad Wheeler
LB: Add Tre Madden (they won't account for his injury or position switch); Add Will Andrew OR Dallas Kelley
CD: Delete Kevon Seymour OR Devian Shelton
S: Delete Elijah Steen; Add Drew McAllister
    P: Delete Kris Albarado

    JCakus

  • Crap, I didn't even notice that you had Devian Shelton or Elijah Steen in there. Shelton needs to be knocked down to something like a 72 or deleted. Elijah Steen should be even lower than that, or deleted.

Kevon Seymour shouldn't be deleted. He was a highly ranked CB and USC's roster is low on young CBs.

I don't see the point in adding WIll Andrew or Dallas Kelley... they're no higher than third string and younger players are ahead of them (Dawson and Starr).

Deleting Chad Wheeler may be a good point. There are a lot of young OL on the roster and it would make room for someone like Tre Madden.

I guess I'm looking at it from the stand-point of someone who plays NCAA. I like all my roster positions to be fairly balanced. The MLB spot looks thin with only 2 players and CB and OL is really deep. I would drop Steen, since he is a walk-on and there are better scholarship players.

I can't wait till NCAA 2013 comes out. My favorite geeky thing to do is modify the roster with the actual names, years and dimensions of the players.
Although with the bug they had about saving the default roster really tripped me up a few times.

I also did the Miami Hurricanes roster (my college team I rooted for in my youth). It's a LOT tougher to modify the roster when you don't watch the team as much or know who is really starters, etc. The USC Trojans web-site is so good compared to some of the others....

I hear you about position depth, but the fact is that the USC roster will have plenty of OLB that can fill in as that third MLB... and it's not like the third MLB really gets any PT anyway.

If you wait a few days there will be a release of a full roster with all of the correct names. Then if you're willing to wait a bit longer after that, there will be a modified roster where players are added/dropped and ratings are changed to more accurately reflect each team. Operationsports.com puts out these "community rosters". That way, for the first few years of the dynasty, everything will be close to accurate.

EA is going to release the rosters of the teams for NCAA 2013?
Do you have a link for the operationssports web-site where the rosters are? Does that web-site guess the rosters or do they get inside info?

The community on that site builds them. I typically download rosters by a team named gatorbait / buckeye for the ps3

No, EA doesn't release them... They're put out by individuals from the operationsports forum.

You download them through the actual game and it's all taken care of from there.

I then go in and tweak the rosters that I know a little more in terms of ratings, to make it more realistic.
