MEMO FROM USC COMPLIANCE OFFICE
On behalf of the University of Southern California and its student-athletes, we are so thankful to have your support as we continue to build championship teams in every sport.
Given the pervasive nature of social media and the fluidity of information sharing in our culture today, we thought an educational message is appropriate as we begin the spring 2012 NLI signing period.
NCAA rules and regulations are complex to say the least. However, NCAA rules governing communication between fans and prospects and/or their relatives are explicit. If any fans, boosters or alumni of USC have any contact (e.g., in-person, message forum posting, instant message, Twitter, Facebook or My Space, text message, e-mail, fax) whatsoever with prospects (or their relatives), there could be serious consequences for both the university and the individual(s) involved. These consequences could include:
• An institutional violation of NCAA rules that must be reported to the NCAA enforcement staff;
• The prospect would become ineligible for competition at USC until reinstated by the NCAA;
• The prospect could be released from his/her NLI due to recruiting violations;
• Coaches could be precluded from contacting prospects for a period of time; and
• The fan/booster/alumni involved could jeopardize their standing with the USC athletic department for a determined period of time.All recruiting conversations must occur between the coaching staff and the prospect and his/her relatives. You may not be involved in the recruiting process in any way. Similarly, prospects or their relatives should not initiate conversations or engage in the recruiting process with fans, boosters, alumni (or any other supporters) of USC. For example, topics that would be impermissible for you to discuss (both privately and over the message board) with prospects or their relatives, include, but are not limited to:
• The prospect’s abilities;
• The prospect’s likelihood to attend USC;
• Any encouragement of the prospect to attend USC;
• The contributions that a prospect could make to a USC athletic team; or,
• What USC would have to offer to the prospect athletically or otherwise.We know that Trojan fans are the most dedicated and supportive in the country. Please contact the Office of Athletic Compliance (213-740-2528) if you have any questions regarding this matter.
Thank you and Fight On!Alonzo Harris ●

I will address your post exclusively, since I will not communicate in any way with the other poster in this thread...
A parent of a USC football recruit may not initiate conversations or otherwise engage USC fans, boosters, or alumni about the recruiting process, specific recruits, or the status of USC recruiting.
This is the directive of the University of Southern California Compliance Office.
I didn't make this up, nor did I pull this out of my ass. This directive was sent to all recruiting websites just last week.As an alum and supporter of USC, I will not stand idly by and allow the agenda of one to jeopardize the standing of an entire athletic department. As a personal friend of Scott Schrader, I will not allow the same agenda to impact Scott's business, Scott's website, the continuation of our message boards, or Scott's access to the USC teams which he so passionately covers.
Having first hand knowledge of Scott's position on this matter, the rest of you simply need to know this is a delicate situation, and one in which he, and many others on this board are extremely uncomfortable.

Banning has never mentioned he is related to anyone so he's just a poster to me. If you are inferring he is related to a recruit, that's you but so far he's just another poster posting about possible recruits like other people are.

I normally don't speak like this, but will everyone just stop making ass clowns of themselves?
Quit trolling individuals who you "think" are parents of recruits. Quit making an ass of yourself for calling people out. And stop with the stupid agendas.
This site is quickly turning into an absolute zoo. Reign it in or many people will be driven away altogether. I sure would hate it if a family felt so disrespected that their son decided to play football elsewhere. Even if the father isn't posting on this site, it shows how quick some people are to disrespect and intimidate.
I understand the rules, and I respect the institution for protecting our beloved Trojans. So let's just all get along? Alright?
P.s. - I don't have a kid being recruited... So let's not keep the witch hunt going...
