McQuay Hopes To See USC

  • Wow. Great call, I love it.

Michigan- winner of one National Championship since 1948. swirl Woo hoo!

World wide tv ? Yes- everyone is Barcelona, Singapore and Shanghai is tuning in for Michigan games. lol

Elite talent, 4.0 student, and an EE. Can't go wrong with LM3. Hope SC can get him.

I feel the same way. Would love to get him at SC.

Right. The thing is, he hasn't even visited SC yet and has them in his top three. That speaks volumes.

    Agreed.

IMO it can cut either way a lot of times when a recruit has an OOS school he's never visited on top, and sometimes indicates that the kid is flaky or hasn't thought things through very much.

In other cases, though, it means a kid has really done his homework and/or has some very specific things he is interested in, such as, in this case, excellent academics and a top flight music program located in a city with a real music scene.

I think, much like Massington, LM3's sight unseen interest in SC is a great thing.

We are returning to where we should never have left. Getting the best of the best recruits regardless of where they are living. Michigan is a world wide and galactic brand my friend. Many Michigan grads have commanded shuttles, Apollo missions and walked on the moon. The inside rumor is along with a full size American flag on the moon. A smaller Michigan flag is on the moon as well.

Now that is influence my friend!

    GO BLUE!

Dude, much respect to the UM Wolverines. But with posts like this, homie, you are really putting yourself out there. UM is on its way back, no doubt, but UM ain't quite there yet. All that space shuttle, moonwalking with the Michigan Go Blue! flag n' stuff, ain't going to save you against Alabama. You got to perform on the field. And if you are getting the "best of the best of recruits no matter where they are living," then handling Alabama in Jerry World should be no problem. Now we, at USC, got some pretty good recruits as well. And I promise you, all Trojans would agree that Alabama would give us all we can handle, because they got some of the "best of the best" talent too. I'm sure Neil Armstrong, who was on the moon with you Michigan men, would agree. flex

Dude where r u ? did u just do a drive by and leave us like that ?,1st of all I was'nt including UM in that statement just the Vandys ,Kal,Fucla.ASU etc. of the CFB world who all use the same lines to keep kids away from SC,telling them to start your own legacy here and why walk in someone elses footsteps ,but they fail to realize that those footsteps is stuff that Legends/Dreams are made of, but since you abruptly jumped to their (UM) defense , I'll respond to u, yes u play in a huge stadium that seats 115k fans congrats , and yes it's considered a big stage ,BTW I think we will be performing there in the near future with the recent 12PAC vs.B1G agreement? rumor but none the less on your Big stage theres nothing but B and C Listers performing on a weekly basis and has been for awhile now , But when your a Trojan playing at the legendary world famous Coliseum it's the who's who of the college football world performing on Prime Time TV Nationally , needless to say because we are the in crowd and the Party is over here on the westside drumsbananacheers you see we celebrate because we can , in spite and despite the recent assasanation of our program by the NZAA , all they did was piss us off,gun along with all the USC fans across the nation which just happened to be btw the very young and impressionable recruits we are now getting into our program who grew up watching and cheering USC and idolizing RB#5 ,ML 11 and Co.(woods.lee,Pullard,Bailey etc.) and they felt they were wronged as well, and they took it personal just like the Alumni and are now starting the RAGE against the MACHINE(NZAA)watch out Maize u just might see us in the RoseBowl again, and u know what happens there when the Trojans are in town, and so does the recruits.peace

    This response really confuses me.

If you are trying to say we are not on the biggest stage in the B1G because of coach urbs doin' work (sons) at ohio, that is true for now. But I can care less. I wouldn't trade Coach Hoke for any coach in the nation, college or pros, and I am serious. He has not yet picked up the accolades that some people think is necessary for legitimacy, but I am more than confident that will change as soon as his recruits get on the field.

If you ask me, Penn State is on the biggest stage in the B1G. But that's a touchy subject, I'm not gonna go there

Sorry for rehijacking an already hijacked thread. I hope we land McQuay

I don't disagree with you. I was a huge hoke fan @SDSU. But be honest, when hoke was named the coach, you and millions of UM fans were like " he isn't a big enough name".

No I was not like "he isn't a big enough name". I researched him and I was actually very excited about the hire. While he has surprised me along with the rest of the nation thus far, his immediate success shocks me far less than it does most people. It's the same as landing a 3* recruit with a high ceiling. The same people who get their panties in a bunch over not landing 5*s are those who probably freaked out when they heard about the hire. Sometimes high risk leads to high reward, and Coach Hoke's tenure epitomizes that

You shouldn't be confused. While coach Hoke is on the rise...he's no Urbie. Might be a better coach overall...but Urbie's personality overshadows Hoke twice over.

That biggest stage mentioned is about winning. You guys better hope this cockroach doesn't get rolling or you'll be right back where you were a couple years ago.

Best of luck. I've always rooted for Michigan when they play Ohio State.

Urbs might have some success at ohio, but that does not mean we will return to where we were a few years ago. I'm expecting some glory years ahead for Michigan regardless of what any other school is accomplishing. Likewise, I'm expecting USC to be in the same boat/already are. Optimistic futures for both of our programs.

he is not the voice of the wolverine fan base. all that apollo moonwalk stuff its to much. we all know what michigan is. we all know about the tradition, academics, stadium etc at UM and only ohio will try and act blind and ignorant to all the positives about UM. there was no reason for him to come out with such rage, no one is even talking smack about UM. right now we dont even have the right to talk smack after the three years with rich rod, but im pretty sure we will be running the big ten soon. UM, USC, bama, ND, osu, psu, texas are all powerhouses no matter what their record was the year before or the last 5 years they will always be the biggest programs in the country.

The guy has a great resume, but if this weasel urbs thinks hes going to come into the big ten and run it he is in for a lot of headaches down the road. it is way harder to recruit down south players for his spread offense at ohio then it is at florida. very easy to get those southern players when your at florida. he wont have the speed at ohio like he had at florida. i think hes realizing this after hes missed on a lot of out of state guys while hoke came in and took some of the best players out of ohio in the last two years cause urban wasn't working hard enough on ohio recruits. its gonna be much harder for him to win at ohio than it was at florida.winning in the SEC doesn't automatically make you a winner wherever you go. anyways we will be seeing you guys a lot down the road whether its in the playoffs, NC, rose bowl or the pac 12 vs big 10 games. i look forward to it. always rooted for you guys against notre dame.

    cheers to USC

Researched him and then was excited about the hire?!? Jeeeeeeez. I thought you were a big Michigan fan.
Hell, he had been an assistant coach at Michigan for like 6-7 years if I'm not mistaken.
He wouldn't even wear red while he was head coach at San Diego State (colors are red and black) because he's such a Michigan fan and wouldn't wear Buckeye colors. The guy was not a high risk coach for you at all.

I would have thought as a Michigan fan you would have known all about him

If I could downvote you right now, I would. I Promise.

I didn't follow Michigan history before becoming a student a few years ago. Supported the university but was not a fanatic, grew up on the east coast. Until I first heard his name, no I wasn't aware of his background as an assistant in the 90's. There were a lot of assistants in the 90's. And I'm referring to his progression at Ball State/SDSU along with opinions from those who've played for him, not the color he refuses to wear.

    Don't question my fanhood.

I'm quite hurt by the downvote wish :(
I haven't actually found out what they are for yet but I'm sure that it's important.

For someone that stated that Hoke's "success shocked you far less than most..." I would have thought you were very much aware of the man and his history. Imagine the shock when we all found out you had barely become aware of him at the time of his hire. I'm so glad for you that you jumped on board just when Big Blue started coming around again. Don't take that as a belittling of your fanhood.

Best of luck landing McQuay.....that is unless our coaches decide they would like him in our defensive backfield.
