Maybe Su'a Cravens...

Should move to linebacker. Listen, Su'a is a plus-plus athlete and could be our biggest playmaker on the field, so I think he should rotate with Hayes in 2014 at WILL. Insert VH3 at safety with Max playing SS. Ramsey and CHawk could man CB.
On paper right now we would have VH3, Su'a, Max, Ramsey, CHawk on the field at the same time for 2015.

Just about everybody said around this time last year...
Lee is crazy to want to play WR. He needs to be at S!

It is nice to have athletes who could play a couple positions, but I think it is impossible to figure out where players will end up until 1) we see exactly what the class will look like and 2) they start hitting in fall camp (in this instance, we're talking 13 months from now) and coaches really get to see where guys fit in at the D1 level.

And at LB, we could have some combination of Sarao, Starr, Ruffin, Hutchings, and come next year, the Salesian kids and Dwight Williams.
Fact is, we're getting back to the way things were in the middle of the last decade when every position is stacked with top shelf talent and, no matter where you look, some extremely talented players get lost in the shuffle. Good problem to have, and one that will exist whether Su'a is a DB or LB.

Well I didn't include a lot of people on defense, this is strictly talk of the '13 class and how Vernon could be part of the team.

Wasn't Shelton brought in for his versatility to also play tailback?

From what I have heard, USC will look at Su'a at LB as they are not sure he is fast enough to keep up with a lot of the speed WR's in the conference. This is not to say that he won't get a look at Safety, but the concern is there,and they think he could excel at LB.

Alot of this stuff tends to work itself out once the pads come in and we see what we really have in these guys.
It's fun to speculate, but it almost never plays out completely how we imagine it when they are in HS.
Like SS said, Cravens will come in as a safety and will play safety. But it wouldn't surprise me if one day we see this kid picked as a 1st round OLBer.

Hargreaves will only play corner, not a physical hitter type. Best call is Redfield and Su'a, but you can also put Willis at the other safety spot if Su'a moves to LB. I feel Willis would be better used as a safety, he's a little stiff in the hips to be a cover guy.

Sua is plenty fast enough to play safety. His speed is comparable to TJ's if not faster at same stage. First I've heard of speed concerns for Sua

I don't see Willis staying at DB either. He's a legit 6'2" 200, has a very big frame, and is already the strongest player on the Marcos de Niza squad. You have to see the picture of him standing next to Roby, he is a BIG KID. He is going to be 215-220 in no time. I also am not convinced he'll end up at USC.

I see Sua as a great Safety and I think that's where he wants to play. I think that the Staff is also recruiting him as a Safety. From my perspective, that's where I would like to see him play. I never heard anything about him being too slow to play that position...the kid actually seems to be quite fast.
The staff knows best and I'm sure SS knows a bit on this too. I just don't have the VIP access to read some of SS's comments.
