Lets say Hatcher

Robey isn't 5'8" with cleats on. When determining how a recruit projects, height is a consideration. All things equal the 6'5" DE will be rated higher than the guy that is 6'1".

to me that backward as heck .Bet hey that's the world of evaluation and rankings i guess, and by prototypical standards he not the ideal DE.

Still null void sense it's still about heart..point blank. (But i see what you mean)

True, but no way a talent like that sits for two years. He may not be a starter before then, but he will see the field quite a bit. I no it's highly unlikely, but it would do two things at once, first it would give us a great player, and secondly it would set that ND board on fire. The meltdown would be amazing.

    panic you got that right!

With all of this speculation about Hatcher coming as a WDE, what about Matthew Thomas from Florida? He is a five star and the #2 ranked at his position and has USC as a high interest. Has anyone heard anything about this guy and has he visited ??????

Kid isn't leaving the south his mom won't allow it..

Same reason Khaliel Rogers is ranked pretty low, he's about 6'1".

Nothing wrong with those measureables in football where leverage is king this is not BB,just like the 40yd dash overrated cuz u rarely run a straight line , so if his 3 * forces teams to back off it enhances our chances on landing him "in CEO and CLK we trust"not some hack

Never said there was, but height is absolutely a factor when ranking football prospects. I am not making any sort of judgement on him as a football player, but he is ranked that low by specific services because being long is very advantageous for a rush DE.

Not saying u that u were, but try Telling that to Harris from da Pitt.Steelers and the the short rush end from the Indy. Colts can't think of his name rt.now on tip of my tongue, u get low on the taller OT and underneath them and then turn the corner on ur way to the QB I understand where ur coming from it is a beauty contest in some eyes but not at SC if that was the case then N.Robey wouldn't be at SC or Matt groodegood for that matter we take playerz and playmakers not always about the X's and O's but the Jimmies and Joes

  • Hatcher's in later next week IMO, and there will be 7 months to sort out the last DB commit.

The musical chair game starts once the season begins, and we all know it's very possible that there could be a very big surprise, come signing day.

Height is a factor in projecting a player, period. Hatcher is clearly a big time prospect, but his ranking is not commensurate with his perceived ability because of his (lack of) height; same thing with all of the guys you mentioned. I have no clue what part of my posts you are disputing.
