Let the rumors begin: Sark to Ark

What are you missing? How about a big payday!

He's making in the low 2 Mil right now . If somebody offered you a %75 pay raise, you listen.

Have you been to Arkansas? Some pretty country, but........

  • Hold up here. UW is "the 2nd most storied team in The PAC"? Cal, UCLA, Stanford and even Oregon can argue with that. Especially if you are talking NCAA titles for all sports. I live in Seattle and if I have to read ONE more story about the 1991 Huskies I will puke. Talk about living in the past!

IF Sark were to make this move (and that's a big if), it would open the door for Mora to move to his alma mater - something he has always wanted to do.

Remember, that's what got him fired in Atlanta, when he talked on the radio about how the UW job was his dream job.

  • I find it funny how all the SEC fans always trash talk the PAC12 then they want coaches from here. I also predict if Sark does go Mora Jr would go to Washington. Wouldn't that just break the heart of all the bRUINS fans.

That's a more recent national title than any of those other schools. Cal and Oregon don't even deserve to be in the conversation - it's Washington, Stanford, or UCLA and the Huskies have won a national title in the last 25 years.

The only reason I could see Sark doing this is for a fat pay raise. Beyond that, it makes no sense; his connections and recruiting base is on the West Coast, and it's a lot cushier trying to win the Pac-12 north than it is going head on with Alabama and LSU in the SEC West.

Not to mention the culture shock...he should talk to Mike Riley (who played for Alabama) about all the back door shenanigans that go on there..smiling faces that will stab you in the back if it can push their program ahead.

The SEC football game day culture isn't for everyone either...think oregon fans, only 3x more, and drunker.

I doubt people in Arkansas consider Mormons to be Christians

    this.

in fact I was a bit puzzled to see a nativity scene om the lawn at the big Mormon temple here in SD. surely Joseph Smith is somewhere feeling a tad bit slighted...

Why leave the 2nd most storied school in PAC history for a middling SEC team?
Sark is slowing building something nice up in Seattle, why leave and have to start all over?

    Agree

  • My two cents:
    1. I don't buy the Holt/Sark reunion
    2. UW can match whatever salary the Hogs propose
    3. UW has just as much exposure as Ark for a HC
    4. Where would his wife and kids be most comfortable.
    5. The Cougs game is not his last game this season; UW is 7-4 and headed to some Bowl (Sun Bowl projection) Dec 31
    6. Ark wants to name a HC this week. A Sark announcement before their traditional game and a bowl game doesn't make sense
    7. Wilcox could not wait to get back to the PNW

BTW, Lupi to USC makes no sense and would be redundant with EdO at USC: USC recruiting and DL expertise are already at a high level. I see USC using a committee approach for DC with EdO, Hazelton, Sanders, and a new fresh young face who understands defensing fast paced spread O like Lance Anderson at Stanford (good recruiter too). Of course the incoming D recruits will be a big plus as well.

  • I agree with many others that this doesn't make sense . . . unless Sark's agent is doing his job and working on getting his client a salary increase . . . . .

Tosh is already DL Coach/Run Game coordinator for UW, so he would need an upward move to leave UW for SC.

Umm...would employment as opposed to unemployment be an upward move given that if Sark's job at UW ends, so does Tosh's?

If that happens, then Noel Mazzone as our new OC.

  • Sark should take a new job this year because he has one more year at UW to really turn it around or he will be fired.

Mazzone is a spread offense guy and Coach O fired him at Ole Miss. So I don't see that happening.
