    A lot of these early verbals committed when USC was one of the prettiest girls on the block. Most of them don't hold the same sentiments towards USC as you or many of the rest of us.

    At the very least, he owes it to the program to replace his father and at least relinquish his playcalling duties. Something is very broken, and his actions during the off-season will enable us to know if he truly believes that, as well.

    The way I read it...Sounds more like he owes it more to you and the posters. Haden will make the necessary move when the time is right. Not Joe Blow poster.

    I hope he keeps the class together. It will only benefit the next coach down the road.

  • The way we salvage things in the future is to inspire our team to play smash mouth football. We need to get tough like Stanford and ND. Recruiting will be a big key. I think we have to have more contact practices because we are lacking on the fundamentals of blocking and tackling. This tough because of the problems we have with depth. We also need a big punishing running back to complement our smaller backs. Trey Madden will be important next year in this scheme.

  • I was thinking about this more this morning and still have a hard time wrapping my head around the Haden-Kiffin conversation. In light of the overwhelming disappointing season, I find it difficult to believe Haden gave Kiffin, AND THE ENTIRE STAFF, a vote of confidence. Complete speculation on my part but it seems plausible Haden told Kiffin changes in the coaching staff need to be made but he would return next year.

    I still don't buy the "depth" thing. We're only 10 scholarships down. Doesn't mean we don't have 75 + xx (walk-on's) at practice every day.

    Of those 10 missing scholarships, how many would be contributing to the 2012 season? Maybe 1 schollie is Will Andrew's that was taken away. But, last I checked, he still plays. I still think Prater, Butler and Carlisle still transfer. Kalil and Perry would still have left early. Wiley would still have been academically ineligible. So, those other 9 spots may be Freshmen. And how many would be RS? 5-6? Sure, they can practice, but they wouldn't be playing on Saturdays.

    Hell, last season, we only had 80 scholarship players. And we found a way to go 10-2. Our D played great the last half of the season. I think CLK needs to go back to physical practices. We need to go back to that physically dominating team we had back in 2008!

    Hey...I'm not happy. I hate utla. Yesterday was no fun. BUT...I've been around long enough to know finger pointing and pissing and moaning doesn't help. Just lets others know they got to you.

    The staff needs to keep this class together...period dot! If the team underachieves next season?...then let the chips fall where they may.

  • I am not an expert on building a house, but if the toilet is in the kitchen, the contractor is doing something wrong.
