LOL.......Oregon Ducks don't deny the drug culture in Eugene

  • They're in Oregon, they can get some of the best herb known to mankind up there. Youve got to wonder though because if it's that important to a recruit then please let them have him. If they want to lose their car keys everyday then so be it.

If I had a kid I don't think I'd get too upset about marijuana as long as he isn't dealing.

That's true. They just drive around at 2 in the morning with no license going over 100mph. No trouble there.

Lol, trust me, it's usually around twenty mph in a 40 mph zone.

Really? Is that what Cliff Harris and Darron Thomas told the state trooper when they were pulled over? We were only going 20mph officer! Lol!

I think their case is uncharacteristic of high drivers, and you pushing that as the norm or expected behavior for marijuana users is at the very least out of touch.

THC, like all drugs (prescription or recreational) have desired and undesired effects. The pharmaceutical industry likes to call these undesired effects side effects. All drugs effect people differently. There are no norms. Only common and less common affects. THC will effect the body's physiology in many ways. The way it affects one person isn't the same way it might affect someone else. To assume it always has a sedative affect with everyone is also "out of touch". There are those with preexisting psychosocial disorders that are influenced differently by the drug. Then there are those taking other medications. What about the potentiating effects of THC with prescription drugs? Will that create repeated sedative effects on every individual? What about athletes taking steroids and the effects of THC on those people? Same sedative effects? The point is there is no normative effects.

  • This is a great advertisement for pot. If that team can be that good and that fast and be filled with potheads. Pretty amazing.

This, for everyone I know. So I'd say that effect is the more common one for the vast majority of people. College student here, not a parent.

Whats funny is, on the float board, some guys are actually saying that this article could HELP with recruiting!! Lol. Dude, every coach in the country can negetive recruit oregon like crazy with this article!! All a coach has to do is show recruits mom and dad this article and the yucks will fall alot for many potential recruits and most of all their parents. I would not want my son going to a school where half the kids on the team smoke weed. Hell no.

Who knows if it will effect recruiting but I'm sure the NFL cares and isn't that the ultimate goal?

Suddenly it makes sense why Phil Knight looks the way he does roflmao

  • "Recently, the researchers of a study in Sports Medicine wrote that athletes claim "smoking cannabis before play helps them focus better" and increases their creativity, and prior studies have found use among athletes to decrease anxiety, fear, depression and tension."

if so, wouldn't this then be considered a Performance Enhancing Drug and an unfair advantage?

Maybe. I played with a guy who decided to get high for a game just to see what it was like. He went from our best player to a mess. Worst game he ever played. Maybe different people react differently.
