Watkins had Hopkins(who had similar stats to Lee) on the other side, and the best TE in country in Dwayne Allen. There were plenty of people to take catches away from him as well. Not disagreeing with you, just

Huh?
Like I said before..... they played in the ACC (horrible conference) Hopkins did not have the same year as Lee, Lee had 6 more touchdowns than Hopkins and almost 300 more recieving yards with one more catch than Hopkins....Dwayne Allen...the best TE in the country?.....Child Please!
Marquise had Woody, a Biletnikoff runner up, on the other side....
Lee > Watkins...

I am not arguing one way or another, but the majority of CFB fans outside of Los Angeles would say the opposite. You are definitely not giving Watkins his due; regardless of what conference he plays in the, the kid can play.

I mostly agree with the other parts of your post... but the fact is that Dwayne Allen is the arguably the best receiving TE in the country. He'll probably be the first TE drafted, and the only other TE that has a chance to jump him (in my opinion) is Fleener out of Stanford.

I guess the NFL Draft will answer the question for us. I sure hope our TEs are first-round types when they leave school... And they seem to have the potential, but they still have a lot of work to do before they can enter that conversation.

Reggie Bush is a once in a generation player, someone who could and would have succeeded anywhere, no matter the circumstances.
DeAnthony Thomas is a very, very good player who plays in a system that makes him special. He could be an elte cornerback anywhere but on offense, he needs Oregon's system as much as it needs him. No chance in hell he could touch the ball 20 times per game in our system and made it through the season whole.

You're not actually trying to say that DAT is a better WR, are you?
The only routes that DAT runs are slants and outs. Not impressed.

Yeah I guess Oregon's "system" helped the kid return all those punts and kickoffs to.The kid's a blur out there and will juke your sock's off.DAT is a freaking beast period. The only thing Lee does better than DAT is going up and getting the football.Other than that,he does nothing better than DAT.Oh I forgot Lee also fights for yardage better but hey DAT's to busy not getting caught to fight for yardage. No need to hate on the kid because he chose to play for the Fuck's.

Where did I say he wasn't an impressive football player? My point is that if he was carrying the ball 15-20 times in a game running in a pro set, he would take too much of a pounding to be that impact weapon here; there's a reason he never made it through a season of HS ball without an injury. 5'8'' 170 pounders don't tend to be those types of players.
I don't think he's a once in a generation talent because those are the guys who would succeed anywhere at an All-American level regardless of system, and I don't think that applies to him. That doesn't mean I don't respect his talent on the football field or think he's really talented, and that's coming from someone who absolutely can't stand the way he handled his recruitment.
