Kylie Fitts says...

  • Hutchings is up next...biggrin

The people who have committed are all good,” Fitts said. “And then I think (consensus four-star LB out of Concord, Calif.) Michael Hutchings will probably join us soon. With the addition of him and the great recruits we’ll get later, we’re going to be fine. I’ve never really thought about the scholarship reductions. With the recruits that we’re getting, that will say it all.

What sanctions? Our 75 are better than your 85.

  • I love the fact that these kids are talking to each other. Makes me feel good about their camaraderie already. This 2013 class is going to be real special!

Yup....and none of them appear to be headcases like some of the 2012 guys seemed to be.

Well lets hope it's true.. this is shaping up as a very solid class from top to bottom.. I guess that has to be with the scholarship limitations... but the thing I like most about the commits SC is getting is that they are high character kids and they all seem to be bonding over the Spring and hopefully over the Summer.. you can't under-estimare how important it is for all these puzzle peices to fit together!

  • I keep coming back to the fact that with only 18 spots to hand out, I wonder if these kids will commit sooner, to guarantee a spot? CLFK and staff are pursuing some highly ranked kids. If some kid is going to try to wait till NLI day, he may find there is no room on the team for him...

I hope Fitts gets Hutchings to commit sooner and then they turn their attentions to the next one....

The Fitts quote isn't getting enough love. Great stuff. Love how these kids aren't worried about the limits and can see for themselves how much talent is heading to SC.

As to when the class gets set, I was really impressed on NSD by how Bama had something like 24 of their 26 guys locked and loaded, then got the other two on NSD.

I would love to see SC's NSD next year be like that. Having a loaded class completely locked up and ready to go, with no drama.

I would much, much rather have the guys SC is getting this year than the guys from the last class for that exact reason.

Some bad apples in last year's bunch it would seem. Time will tell.

  • With Hawkins, Bigelow, Browne and Fitts locked up, Cravens and Hutchings seeming to be on the cusp, and many others that have us as their leader, these kids will start committing sooner than later. IMHO

If we had ~16 commits locked in and all we had to do was sweat out the final 2, that would go a long way to reducing my blood pressure next February.
And if we have 4-6 EE's then that reduces the drama even more!

  • It seems almost more than likely that we will have 4-6 EE's this year. Most of them being top targets on SC's board will definitely help with many of our blood pressures and take much of the drama out of signing day.
