Junior Seau Found Dead

I used to eat with Junior now and then back at EVK. Always a good guy, and few could touch his ability on the field as a player and a leader. He set the templet for many of our monsters on defense for years to come. He will always be a great Trojan.

Really terrible news. Having lost a classmate to suicide 20 years ago...one never knows why people take this drastic step. RIP Junior...my heart aches for his children.

That was only 18 years ago.
How can 8 players from the same team be dead at such a young age?
I tell you, if this doesn't start to shine a million-candle-power spotlight on head trauma in football (or sports in general) I don't know what will.

My condolences guys to all of you Trojan fans and especially Junior's friends and family. Junior was one of my favorite players growing up. I am stunned, I can't imagine how you all feel right now. RIP Junior.

Some of those guys died in crashes (airplane and car); Shawn Lee and Lew Bush died of a heart attacks. Let's not jump to conclusions that all are related to head trauma.

Regardless of how they passed...that's an extremely high number.

Only actually met him once gave me an autograph on a paper plate cuz that's all I had lol but he was a Monster on the field and my all-time favorite football player and the reason I began to follow USC and Chargers Football(Rams fan first) watching his mom talk was just heart wrenching...... R.I.P the #55!

USC All-American LB Junior Seau was reportedly found dead in his Oceanside home today of a gunshot wound, according to San Diego police.
Pat Haden on Seau: "We are tremendously saddened to hear this news and our hearts go out to his family and children. Junior Seau was one of the greatest legends in USC football history. He will always be remembered by USC as the original No. 55."
Lane Kiffin on Seau: "This is a very sad day. The USC football program and the entire Trojan Family extends our condolences to Junior's family. He was one of the greatest Trojans of all-time. Our team and fans were very fortunate to see him just a couple of weeks ago at our Spring Game at the Coliseum. He will be deeply missed."
We'll have more coverage on Seau's life and career, but for now, we send out our condolences from the Trojan Family to his family. RIP No. 55...

When I think of Junior, I think of USC. He was such a great roll model and great ambassador to our school. He was an icon and a sure shoo in to the NFL HOF. Hearing today that he died absolutely gutted me. He was such a part of the Samoan community. I heard about his passing while going to a rehab appointment. They played a cut from his mom Luisa in anguish. It was almost too much to take. I wish someone would have picked up on the signs that he might be in trouble before it came to this. His loss leaves a giant void in Trojan Family, the NFL, San Diego, and the Samoan community. RIP Junior!

Very sad news indeed.We all struggle with inner demons we try to hide from the world.For many a smile can just be a facade.Really wish Junior could have gotten help for whatever troubles that may have been burdening him.It's tragic it even came to this.I'm very disheartened by this news.Fight On Junior!I hope you found the peace you longed for.
