I feel way more hate from you guys than love, but I put it into perspective and willing to look past it.

Hate? Nobody's hating on you. lol

You're worried about SC not producing NFL DBs that meet your expectations, which is irrelevant as it relates to helping SC win football games.

Dude is a clone of Morris Claiborne. I cant remember the last USC corner that was a 1st round material corner?

I was ready to jump all over this quote, but after thinking about it, I wouldn't be justified in doing so. Even though he was recently busted and was booted off the team after the 2003-04 season, Eric Wright was probably the most talented CB we've had here in a long time. T Thomas had a nice career here and was a very good cover-2 corner, but he never rose above 2nd team All-Pac10. Before he blew out his knee, he was getting better every year, as evidenced by his 2nd and 3rd seasons with the Giants. But just look back to Pete's first year, 2001, and go over every scholarship CB we've signed or had on the roster. And yes, I know some are Hackett recruits: Kris Richard, Chris Cash, Kevin Arbet, Jason Leach, Darrell Rideaux, Marcell Allmond, Will Buchanon, Justin Wyatt, Ronald Nunn, John Walker, Will Poole, Eric Wright, Josh Pinkard, Terrell Thomas, Cary Harris, Mozique McCurtis, Kevin Thomas, Vincent Joseph, Shareece Wright, TJ Bryant, Brian Bauchem, Torrin Harris, Anthony Brown, Tony Burnett, Omari Crittenden, Nickell Robey, Isiah Wiley, and Ryan Henderson. Shelton and Seymour are not included. Out of all of these players, only Cash (6th), Poole (4th), E Wright (2nd), T Thomas (2nd), Harris (6th), K Thomas (3rd), and S Wright (3rd) were drafted. Wiley will probably get picked in the middle rounds, and Robey should be a 1st round pick, as he is the best CB I've ever seen play as a Trojan. I never understood why the top tier CB prospects never went to USC, but it seems like we have been getting some elite players ever since CLK took over.

  • Press coverage- the best is Willis. He is much more physically developed now and will continue to be. Ramsey has the frame to put on 10 more lbs. of solid muscle making him much better. Willis is an 8 and Ramsey is a 6.5 in that aspect. Man to Man is Hargreaves, he has the best closing speed and shadows receivers the best. He is an 8.5. Willis needs to improve slighly, but he is good, 7. Ramsey shadows his receivers just as well, he is an 8. Zone technique is more the smarts side of know where your safeties are at, I feel Hawkins has the best awareness of that and he is a 8. Willis sometimes tries to rely too much on his own ability, but he will learn coming to SC there are cover 2 and 3. I rate him a 6. Ramsey is smart and I give him a 7.5. When it comes to timing receivers I would say again it is Hawkins, in his videos he knows how to read receivers before the play and you see him drop 10-15 yards on deep balls. I give him an 8. Willis needs to work on this, but when he goes into bump coverage he will be able to shut down the receivers, so if they use him that way he could become dominant. On reading I give him a 7. Ramsey gets an 8 because watching the live coverage of him at the Atlanta Camp he showed coming off bump and sticking with receivers, meaning he was reading the receivers after a couple of plays. What there tendencies were. Chris Hawkins has the best footwork, but needs to put on weight. He's an 8 Willis has great footwork for a big guy, he's a 7.5. Ramsey is an 8 and is very fluid and quick with his feet. Quickness I would say Willis is and he is a 8. Ramsey is a 7.5, but not as physically developed as Willis is. Speed is Ramsey, when it comes to make up speed and shadowing, he is as good as the best. Willis trails slightly. Ramsey again with football instincts, he is always making plays on the ball which results in interceptions because of his great hands. Willis doesn't have as good of hands, but he hits harder. Hawkins always makes the best form tackles in open field with receivers and I would give him a 7. Willis and Ramsey, should be better because of there bigger size, but both of them are 6.5. The most physical corner is Willis, but Ramsey knows how to get to the ball carrier by using good pad level. Ramsey would fit into Monte's scheme because he is the best play maker with knowing where the receiver is and using his body to make plays. He can play cover 2 and 3, you can have him blitz on 3rd and short off the back side because of his speed. I believe he is a bigger and better version of the role Robey plays, just needs to improve his sure tackling.

  • It seems the type of corners that I see "The League" going after are the Ramsey and Hargreaves types though. These are the guys that can play man and when you can do that you can learn all the different coverages and they can use you to blitz. I don't think Hargreaves works good for SC's type of defense because you have to let him use his skills, but you can implement Ramsey in all of SC's schemes and he is much bigger than Hargreaves. Hargreaves reminds me of those type of corners that South Florida like to get.

  • I'll take the production we got from Kevin Thomas and Cary Harris who I thought was a excellent college corner. He was very good in coverage and was one of the better hitters we had at the position.

As far as T2 he was very good and also a type we would love again, wouldn't put him up there with Revis but that goes for almost every other corner in the league so no knock there

T2's production was just a s good as Revis looking at the numbers. I guess we'll never know how much better he would have been in his 4th year before the ACL took his season away.

I know that T2 is a better tackler than Revis.

Darrelle Revis Whiffs on Tim Tebow Tackle

Revis is clearly NOT a complete cornerback. Nice Olay on Tim Tebow. You talked all that smack about tackling him. Here was your chance, that's right look at the monitor, we all saw that. Tape doesn't lie right? So tired of everyone saying he's a complete player, he's not.

  • 30, pretty lofty prediction on Ramsey, who I think will be excellent and I hope comes to USC, but Massington did school him, himself a great prospect, who by all observations has not mastered route running yet

Nice wall of text dude. Nerds know paragraphs.

One thing to consider before you go all fanboi on sec DBs in general and Ramsey in particular is limited rides. If USC has 25/28 spots to fill, Ramsey is a Morris Claiborne ("no-brainer"), but with the limits, you have to take Willis first. They are both great players, but if you don't take Ramsey, he'll likely go to Knoxville or at least stay in the South and you'll never see him across the line of scrimmage. If you don't take Willis, chances are he'll make one of your conference rivals a better team.

  • You are right, but why not take both? I would rather take Ramsey because he more coverage ability, but if we don't take Willis than we miss on Mathis and Goodman. They need to get both of these guys though.
