"I love it here at ND. I can't wait....

  • Yeah, some of these posts are way too harsh (especially the heart one). The real fault is on whoever agreed to release him from USC. Its not his fault the NCAA accepted his waiver. We might disagree with his reason for transfer, and be pissed about him being able to play right away for our rivals, but when he was here he was an outstanding kid with great character who did all the right things on and off the field. Reminds me of Barkley and Woods.

And some people are making fun of him for going to USC because its near Hollywood and he wants to be an actor. What the hell is wrong with that? Isn't one of the reasons SC is such a sought after school the connections you make when you're there? I am currently in the process of apply to and picking schools for my graduate studies in music performance. Schools in the LA area are more attractive simply because its probably the best place in the world as far as musical opportunities, and the same is even more true for acting.

I doubt LK listens to Haden at all...doesnt seem like he would do it based on his personality

    That is his boss...

Ya but LK has the Leverage. If worst comes to worst who do you think the fanbase will side with? Haden the Bitch or Lane the savior Kiffin

Doesn't matter who the fan base would side with, Haden has the power. The fan base as a whole detests KO and wants him gone... that's not happening for at least another year because fans have next to no influence.

Fanbase has nothing to do with insubordination. And the board obviously respects Haden

  • I thought there were rumors of Carlisle regretting the move to ND shortly after it happened?

I know his departure hurts USC's depth but I have moved on, but based on comments I have read here and elsewhere, it sounds like ND is a better fit for his personality.

the "Haden can do no wrong" crowd thought USC was showing class in allowing him to transfer to Notre Dame, and it was assumed that Haden had something to do with it.

Others, myself included, thought it was a joke to allow him to transfer to Notre Dame, that Notre Dame would never allow the reverse to take place, and had no clue as to who (Haden or Kiffin) made the actual decision.

If this guy ever rushes for even one yard against USC, I will still be angry about it. And as for the corrupt NCAA, I half expected them to rule that the 8 games he played at USC did not count, and award him 4 years of eligibility with the Irish

Decisions on transfers were made by committes of student athlets, faculty, and administrators (not directly involved w/sports) under MG.

    Likely the same process now.

    that is indeed interesting...

I would love to know whether that is still the policy under Haden. I never heard this come up before at the time he was cleared to transfer to Notre Dame....

The board does not respect Haden. If they did why would people assume he was the sole reason Carlisle got released to ND in the first place. That is not respect, but a dig at Haden.

The point im trying to get at is, regardless of who the AD is, he has little to no say in on the field football matters. That's why LK was hired. That's who has the final say. Haden isn't even the one who hired LK so why would LK show any allegiance to the man and listen to what he has to say anyway. This release is really a non issue unless Carlisle moves to Cornerback and becomes the next Darrelle Revis.

    It is an appeals process.

I know Carroll was furious about it RE: UNLV for illegal contact w/our players.

Can't remember if it was Wright or Hinds...

This isn't an "on the field" matter.

IF CPC could get overruled under MG's watch after the 30+ game run he had, CLK will certainly get overruled by Max now.

At this point I would have to agree he has moved on and we are still stuck with our feet in the mud. It was something the coaches signed off on and he is no longer here. He is now a domer period, we are Trojans. Wish him luck but as in war, roads will cross again some day, and the outcome he will not like.

So why the hell would your transfer to Indiana?

That was my point, and a good one at that.
