How Do You See This Year's USC v Ucla Game Playing Out....

  • Looking at the schedule, aside form the new Pac 12 Championship game, this shapes up as a year similar to the year we played Ucla at the end of the year with a birth in the BCS title game at stake. That game is the worst game in history as far as I am concerned. With the game at the Rose Bowl, I wonder what this year's Ucla team will look like by year's end. I expect Hundley to be their QB and don't know if his running ability will translate into anything worrisome. They still have the same set of DB's we scored big on, but a new DC and a new OC will be interesting to see given Neuheisel was such a bad coach all around. If an undefeated USC team comes into the Rose Bowl with any kind of improving Ucla team, it will be a fun atmosphere.

    ucla will play with 11 DBs to try and slow down the passing game.
    Lane will 'accidentally' call him junior after a blow out
    Mora will pull a Neuheisal and speak to the 5 bruin fans left and vow to recruit more DBs

    McNeal goes for 120+ with a score and Dion Bailey gets a pick 6.
    Heidari nails a 48 yarder.
    USC advance to 11-0 looking to finish the regular season strong at home vs. the Domers.

    UCLA gets 9 all by field goals. Mora takes "Punting is winning" to another level by saying "Kicking is winning."
    UCLA falls to 4-7 after losses to Nebraska, Houston, Cal, Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, and Washington State.

    Actually, compared to punting, kicking IS winning haha.

    If we had a crap D and they had a better O then maybe we would see a shoot out with our O playing a full 4 Qtrs.

    Like last year, our 1st string O will dominate and put up 40-50 Pts in the 1st 3 Qtrs then we'll sit on the ball and run out the clock in the 4th.

    I say it's 42-3 going into the 4th. We pull our 1st string O and D, we get a TD running the ball like crazy in the 4th and they get a cheesy late TD against our 3rd stringers.

    Final is 49-9 (they went for 2 and missed)

  • A lot of outlandish posts on here. Do not underestimate UCLA this year. I think they are going to be the #2 team in the south. They have talent. Mora has instilled a new sense of fight and toughness in them. I don't think we will face anything close to the team we played last year. The one thing slick Rick could do was recruit, not on USC's level but decent. Fight on everyone.

    How do you know he has instilled a new sense of fight and toughness in them?

    You think he is Bear Freaking Bryant and they are The Junction Boys?

    It takes more than one spring to wipe out decades of pussification?

    How about we let them actually play a few games before we crown them

  • Ok Pitzrr, we agree fucla stays under double digits. I just see an extra 11+ points on our side. Will enjoy it if we hit the brakes at 40 but will enjoy it more if Lane keeps firing.

    They might be a little better then last year (maybe) but guess what? So are we!!
    They have a brand new system, new plays, new coaches etc. They might improve in the long run, but they will have a learning curve under this entirely new system.

    We are a veteran well oiled machine, we will hammer them for 3 QTRs. Who knows what will happen in the 4th Qtr with our back-ups in and our starters resting in prep for the big ND game the following week.

    UCLAs improvement will be that they will score vs our back-ups this time.

    His comment is a little over the top, but I don't think it is a huge stretch for them to finish #2 in the South, they did do it last year.

  • No question the Bruins will be pointing for this game no matter what their record is. If USC comes into the game relatively healthy there's no reason why the Trojans don't win big. Being a cross-town rivalry, however, anything can happen but I still like USC dominating in this one.
