  • John David Booty had a great career. He won two Rose Bowl games and lost only three games. At any other school John David Booty would be a top five quarterback for a school's team. He is probably one of the most underrated college quarterbacks ever. He was drafted in the NFL, the only reason he was let go was due to Brett Farve. The injury his senior season hurt his draft chances.

  • How good is David, really? I don't know enough about QB play to form any kind of informed opinion. It looks like he's pretty accurate most of the time.

Didn't steve clarkson say that for his age, David was the best quarterback he's ever seen? I expect him to be a 5 star prospect.

  • Why do people keep saying and writting "Southern Cal" ? It's SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. The University makes it quite clear.

He was pretty darn impressive for a freshman Saturday night. He has a good arm, which I expect to get better because he's still a boy. There is a lot of physical maturing left for this one, not one of those kids who come into HS maxed out physically.

He has a firm grasp on mental aspect of the game, understands defenses and throws a catchable ball.

He ran the ball a few times and had good enough speed and wiggle for a QB. I wouldn't say a true dual threat yet, but can run enough to hurt a D.

Give him a few years to grow into his body and he does have a world of potential.

I watched part of his game on TV. He definately has the arm strength, ball seem to have good speed, definately a good looking young prospect. East coast non HD tv was not the best coverage to see too much.

    Made good decisions.

  • I just find offering a 13 years old QB a USC scholarship a bit .... extreme ... perhaps a brilliant move on Kiff's part, I will follow this with interest.

Definitely a brilliant move should it work out. The kid definitely expects to be at SC in 2015. Kid is a little like my son who told me when he was 12 that he wanted to go to SC and he made it happen. Special kids make there own dreams and aspirations come true!

  • Definitely a wise move, given Clarkson's evaluation. Evaluation is the key to recruiting. We learned that when Kiffin and Orgeron departed and Brennan Carroll became recruiting coordinator. Absolute joke. It's a miracle Kiffin and Coach O were able to bring in the class they did last February, given the chaotic condition of the recruiting process that was turned over to them. I wonder if Trojan fans fully realize the mess the new coaches inherited. Best, Loel Schrader

IMO, QBs are the most likely to remain committed to the program they choose originally, besides special team players.
