the video he is talking about is on scplaybook he makes a leaping INT one on one vs Lee but the ball was under thrown. What class was he part of ?? i really dont remember him.

  • Kid had offers from Army, Air Force, Harvard, Illinois, and Indiana - and maybe more.

He also carried a 4.0 GPA.

I LOVE having kids like this on the team. Hopefully he earns a scholarship once the snactions are over.

Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!

  • Cool article I found.
Apparently he is Calvin Johnson's cousin and shutdown DaRick Rodgers (Tennessee WR) in high school when he was a sophomore.

Here's my favorite quote: "In two years, I see myself at one of the top academic institutions in the nation. Majoring in either math or science. Likely both. Playing football on the side."

Where do we find these kids????
I can't say it enough, but it is Kiffin's practice of not just offering the most talented, but the most high-character kids that impresses me and excites me the most. Even when Carroll was here, many of us were impressed at justt how camera-ready so many of the young men were, relative to other schools. That wasn't an accident.

And before anyone mentions someone like Ambles, or whatever, it is situations like that that also set Kiff apart: he is willing to give second and third chances, to be human...

I am going to stop this fellate-job right here.

"playing football on the side"...great to hear

Waay too many of these guys forget they're students first then athletes. This type of attitude may not be the best for his football career, e.g Myron Rolle, but it will greatly serve him in his life beyond sports...which looking at a lot of these pro football athletes should not be ignored.

  • Since USC lacks depth at tailback why not try Dillard there? He appears to have all the measurables.

Ryan has been listed from 5'10 175lbs to 5'9 152 lbs. I don't think his size is suited to the type of backs that CLK wants to use.

If anything, Lane's shown he doesn't have a predilection towards a certain size so much as if they can play. Having guys like Anthony Brown (PC recruit but Lane made sure to keep him in the fold) and Nickell on the roster, while offering a kid like Johnny Johnson early speaks to that.

Is Dillard's size, or size/speed combo ideal? Of course not, which is why he's a preferred walk on. But if he can play and handle the reps, it wouldn't matter if he's 5'4''; Lane would put him out there.

  • Good to see walk ons into the program. NR speaks highly of the kid and what a better way for Ryan to learn from NR. Good things are going his way.

I had read that he was 5-9 and 180 and he looked pretty "ripped" in his picture. If he is not close to 180 then he would not be considered a running back candidate.

  • Went to throwing session he is actually shorter than robey. But he is a thick dude. More in the 5”6 _5”7 range

Yea, I didn't really keep in mind that he is a walk on. But in either case those guys you pointed out are DB's. If you look at the backs CLK has been trying to bring in, especially this year, they are much bigger than Dillard. I think if there were ever an issue where we needed another back, I don't think Dillard would be called upon until there were few other choices.
