Patterson may go ahead of Woods. But he wont have a better numbers or career than Woods. Not sold on a one year D1 kid on a terrible team always playing from behind.
I really hope the texans grab him
Nice work by Woods.
Do we have a thread for how the kids did at the combine? I just read that Holmes did 13 reps on bench press, was he injured or something?
Hell yes, me too!!
He would be a perfect compliment for AJ and would fit well in the offense.
I think Khaled strained his pec during his bench press. Obviously his day/combine was over after that.
Woods will NOT be the 1st WR drafted. Why? He runs a 4.5. I don't think teams see him as that home run threat.
I hope he slides to 27.
Most teams have their own guys there with stop watches. I'd bet all of em have him clocked in the 4.45 range which is solid for a wideout. Add that to his crisp route running, high football iq and superior maturity and he should be the second WR behind only cordarrelle cuz that guys measurables are off the charts
It is amazing the difference between straight-line speed and good route-running speed.
Woods was always a great route runner and his ability to run good routes, combined with above average speed gives him the ability to get separation as well.
There are some intangibles that I am sure are coming through in the individual interviews and background checks that will give Woods a boost in the draft - not sure if it is enough to make him the #1 WR, but he should definitely help his draft position with his ability to communicate his off-the-field focus.
Can't wait to see him play healthy on Sundays.
I hope he has that great of a career. Although considering USC has produced 4 WR's in the NFL's all-time top 100 WR's, Woods is going to have his work cut out for him to end up the
G.O.A.T from SC.
Patriots would be a great fit for him IMO.
So, you would have taken Graham Harrell #1 overall when he came out, seeing as how he broke virtually every single NCAA passing record? When it came to production/stats, Harrell was the cream of the crop.
Stats, at the college level, can be misleading. I'm not saying that's the case with Robert Woods; I'm just speaking in general.
I agree with Adamson that Cordarelle Patterson is the best WR in this year's draft.
