Ultimately came down to CLK and M.Barkley play calling and trying to force feed the ball too M.Lee.it appeared to me after MB7 Heisman hopes went down the drain after a sub-par Stanford game.CLK decided to try and get M,Lee to New York instead at RW expense, by making numerous questionable play callsfor lee and Barkleys inexplicable sudden tunnel vision to one side of the field although it was the wrong one and many attempts into trippple coverage.,woody told reporters to no ones surprise ,at least not on this board.that He would enter the draft after yesterdays embarrassing lost to GT, and for go his 4th yr.of college eligibility to enter the 2013 NFL draft.
He stated that
If the coaches wanted to keep me another year, they would've probably got me the ball.''
Damn!!! sounds like clubhouse drama to me and maybe the reason their is such a descension on this team hence the record this year .in addition to the lack of leadership from atop.
-- USC wide receiver Robert Woods, who had 35 more catches in 2011 than 2012
"I feel like I accomplished a lot at USC and I'm very prepared to play at the next level," Woods said in a Hyundai Sun Bowl postgame radio interview. "I would like to thank my coaches and teammates for everything they helped me with in my career at USC."
Woods is the No. 41 overall player for the 2013 draft, ranked by ESPN's Scouts Inc. He could be an option for the Houston Texans late in the first round?

No Excuses,'' 11 x National Campions anyday, anytime ,anywhere.
Next year deandre hopkins and Marqise would've been selected before woods. Next year seems like a stronger year for WRs relative to this year. He made a good business decision regardless of targets, catches or touchdowns.
Maybe true but if given the chance we all know what he is capable of lets not forget who holds all the SC rcvn.records.RW and with another 2011 type year he could possibly be No.1 U NEVER KNOW?
This was already discussed yesterday. Pedro DBag Moura took his comment out of context. Did you read his response to that? That's not the way he meant it and you're adding fuel to drama.
Robert Woods @HeismanWoods
@PedroMoura you know that's not how I said it...but way to phrase me to look like a -hole .

Hopkins is a junior this year, so he could leave early too. Has he announced one way or the other? Clemson's other stud WR, Sammy Watkins, would possibly be drafted before Woods next year, if Woods had stayed.
I Disagree. Man how quickly we forget.woods wasn't 100% all year, and still is top 5 WR in the Nation.
Conjecture on my part, but I wonder how much Robert being unable to practice healing from the foot injury of last year hurt his chemistry with Matt?
From what I read on here in a post and I do not have the stats to back it up, Marqise only caught 7 more passes than Robert but had 700 more yards receiving.
Not sure what that means but it does seem that both got their share of passes.
I said would 'possibly' be drafted ahead of Woods. I won't even pretend I know how to differentiate between two elite WRs, when it comes to NFL draft stock.
Not sure where you read that, Marqise had 118 receptions this season, while Robert had 76.....
118 - 76 = 7
See how that works?
My bad, I brought it up without checking it out, thanks for the correction ...
RW aka "The Technician" great route runner good hands great blocker 4.5 or better speed. punt returner great hands and played in a Pro Style offense
To be fair, "118 - 76 = 7" is not close to being the most inaccurate thing I have read on this board in the past 2 weeks.
Winning winners who win > whining whiners who whine.
Your sig is great ...
Ahh I meant to say Watkins.
I like Robert a lot but didn't show much on punt returns this year.
so, how often should a receiver that we know "wasn't 100%", get looks/targets?
Anyone who thought that Barkley's Heisman hopes went down the drain after the Stanford game wasn't paying attention to USC's schedule. SC still had big games with Oregon and Notre Dame on the horizon. ABC/ESPN gave the Notre Dame game bowl-type coverage.
Barkley's preference for Lee was part of a scheme to get Lee to New York? C'mon.
Would Lane play a game like that?
like I said ''Top 5'' WR in the Nation whether he's 85-90-95-100% if he's open MB7 should've looked his way more and got him the ''damn ball'' maybe had a better season overall instead of this disaster of a season, instead he chose to force the ball into trippple coverage(Lee) .the evidence was there all year none more so than the 1st play of the Fucla game.and the fact that Max was doing the same damn thing forcing the ball to lee when others were open,is indication that plays were being called for Leespecifically by (clk) and the QB'S were not going too venture away from the main target(Lee) of the play.which means their natural progression thru the WR as most QB's should do were surely lacking as well as their judgement BTW we also have some damn good TE that should've been used and were'nt WHY? CLK ?

I That was my post I was actually talking about Lee and Woods' stats the last two years
Lee had 76 rec in 2011 and 1143 yards receiving (15yds/rec)
Woods had 76 rec in 2012 and 846 yards receiving (11yds/rec)
Lee had 118 rec in 2012 and 1,721 yards receiving (14yds/rec)
Woods had 111 rec in 2011 and 1,292 yards receiving(12 yds/rec)
stats show Lee does more with the catches he gets and its not even close. You could even say that Woods both benefited and suffered from being the most know commodity, in other words the beginning of 2011 Barkley force fed Woods the ball because they had the better rapport and that's where he accumulated most of his catches. the last 4 games are where Lee came on can Barkley's confidence in him grew a ton and that rolled over to 2012. It's been reported that Lee was both Barkley's first option and Kiffin's and statistically that makes since. Yards/per catch wise they both regressed. A good question is all things being equal and Lee coming in the same class as Woods what would have happened. I don't know what the status of Woods' ankle was over the course of the year and how that affected his ability to practice or his timing with Matt, but if Woods averaged the same number of yards per catch as Lee did he would have had another 1,000 yard season and probably wouldn't care how many balls he got.
I'd still like to say Woods is a great WR and a great Trojan, and I wish him great success in the league.
Ahhhh ... thanks for refreshing my feeble mind as to the content of the numbers I misapplied ... with a caveat on my part..
without RW on the other side of the field Lee will receive even more trippple coverages RW accomplished his numbers without an establish all Pac-12 WR on the other side of the field .if you recalled Lee was still developing as the other go to rcvr. RW will do well in the N.F.L he is smith with more speed and will end up with a nice Playosquad with a decent QB if he goes late in the 1st round.hopefully Green Bay ,Indianapolis,Wash.N.E.Denver.?
That logic bodes well for Nelson.
exactly he should have a breakout year ,''IF''we have a QB to get the ball to him.and not have tunnel vision .
