Basically we have:
Wes Horton - Sr - SDE
Devon Kennard - Sr - WDE
Kevin Greene - Jr - WDE
Greg Townsend - Fr - SDE
Charles Burks - Fr - WDE
DeVante Wilson - Fr - WDE
Morgan Breslin Fr - WDE
Him and Greg Townsend Jr. would be my two back-ups to Horton and Kennard.
I'm high on Burks, Breslin and Wilson, too. Looking pretty good at DE.
breslin is a junior
Yup.. 2 years to play.. Will give enough time to young DE to develop.
IMO, Leonard Williams will end up at Defensive Tackle, and quite possibly the next great Nose Tackle for USC.

I thought Williams was expected to play DT?
I also thought about that. They said he also played tackle in HS and has done very well. His hands and size I believe are his strengths when I watch him on Under Armour practices.
Hopefully he is Armond on roids. A big DT/DE tweener that could be up past 300 biscuts before he leaves.
the plan is to play him at DE
that's where the need is
if he gets too big, then they'll move him inside
I smell DT but don't Leonard that. Shhhhhh...
With all due respect Williams is a much better athlete than Mondo
I think he probably has more potential than anyone and I expect him to contribute immediately.
How is the need at DE and not DT? We have 7 DE's besides him, including two seniors who have starting experience. We have four DTs on the roster, none of whom have started for more than a game or two
Probably becuase the key to Monte's defensive scheme is getting pressure on the QB from the edge and forcing the QB out of the pocket. The DT's are there to contain and push the pile back. The faster the edge can get in, the faster the QB will panic and make an errant throw, which usually means a pick from one of the safety's or LB's.
"there is the SEC, and then there is USC." - Marcus Allen, 11-26-11
my guess for CLK comments is that they'll try him out at SDE because of his size, strength + speed
he could be Horton's backup
don't know what Townsend looks like in terms of size, but he may end up behind Williams on the depth chart and may be a better candidate to move inside
I watched the armour game several times. He gave that Oregon St oline commit fits .Williams lower legs look very skinny,so in terms of position it has to be DE.
Williams really reminds me of a bigger and possibly faster Armond. His upside is ridiculous to be frank. If he can get in the weight room, he can fit Orgeron's definition of a "War Daddy". btw, this is my first post ever on this site and i like to say that i enjoy everyone's contributions and insight on this board. thanks and Fight on!
DE or DT with some added muscle as AM said in his legs.
On film he does not tackle RBs & QBs he slams them to the ground like rag dolls ... he stands tall over the rest of his HS D teammates.
Plays very physical and aggressive, seems to enjoy seeking and destroying opposition. ...
Williams,Breslin and Townsend should see alot of playing time this year.
