Per the ND 24/7 site,
I know this staff typically tends to like to have the last visit, but I see this as a potential positive. I think this is a chance for the staff and the other players in this class to really sway Eddie back to us and get him remembering why he committed in the first place. Hopefully, this visit makes such an impact on him that he skips out on ND the following week because he received the reassurance that he needs. That said, we need to announce a DC ASAP. How well the new DC and Eddie connect in that first meeting seems to be the big unknown variable.

If EV wants to be a Trojan, he will be.
Do you really think ND has the answers on defense ? Alabama took ND to school in every aspect of the game.
Time to work with the kids who do not create drama.
He said early on his biggest concern would be a coaching change and that is why he had backup schools. There was a coaching change. He then de-committed. As far as I'm concerned he has played it fair.
Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!
So has Vanderdoes actually said he wants to play in a 4-3 defense and not a 3-4? By having interest in Notre Dame and UCLA, it would seem he doesn't care what type of defense a team runs, so is that just a message board rumor that EV is opposed to 3-4s?
Also, I know it's just the blue board, but a pretty level-headed Bama poster said Vanderdoes' interest in the Tide has been growing (another 3-4, by the way).
He's stated that he preferred a 4-3 defense versus a 3-4. He was quoted in saying that when people were surprised he committed to USC versus Oregon when everyone felt Oregon was in the lead. However he was also quoted about a month ago or so about the comparisons of all the schools that he's high on is that they have an attacking defense. So seems to me he's more concerned on the type of defense they run: "attack wise." I'm still learning more about the different types of formations so I'm sure that other people will explain further.
CLK has taken his time with most hires....WR, DB, LB, yet I think that he realizes just how important getting a DC on board by Jan 18th is. Plus, Lane probably won't have a ton of time after the 18th due to flying around for his one official visit with the remaining recruits and their families. USC hired CLK within one week of Pete's announcement.
I bet bringing aboard a good young DC like Banker, Narduzzi or even Barry would have an extremely positive impact on our staff and our current defensive players. Michael Hutchings and the team really loved Barry. EV would need to ask himself how good would the SC defense be with a guy like Banker who had the 2nd best defense in the pac 12 with a bunch of 3 stars. Narduzzi's record is outstanding. Plus all run 4-3's which highlight the defensive line rather than linebackers.
I hope Lane hires this guy soon. He had 8 days to do so.

watching ESPN U. they dont even list USC with Vanderdoes. its all Alabama, ND, Oregon, Washington, UCLA. they got him as #1 DT in nation.
they got LaRue jumping 76 spots in the 150 after decommiting from USC . this is laughable
on a brighter note they have Ramsey jumping 34 spots
"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"- F ND!
Probably wanting to make sure ND has named its new head coach before he visits.
did he get play as a WR?
i think I only saw him on a few decent put returns, pretty good speed, he'll be a good player
but as a whole Hawkins had the longer Kickoff return and had an excellent performance covering wide receivers.

Not sure how this can be seen as a positive but if Kelly leaves that would certainly help.
Move on means FIGHT ON!
That is absolutely hilarious!!
Is anyone else concerned that SC is not the last visit for EV?
Nope. Just let everything play out and let things fold into places. SS mentioned how he wouldn't be surprised if after the January 18th visit to USC that he shuts things down. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a great time on his visit that he would re-commit. I would be more concerned of the possibility of not having a DC by the 18th than EV not having SC as his last visit.
Brian Kelly will be in the NFL
