I'm hopeful/praying with you... I don't have kids... Feels like these guys ARE my kids. And they both have bright futures based on personality/character alone, assuming this isn't true.
This would be shocking unless they were jumped first. Even then, hitting a woman... Ugh.
I'll wait to hear the story when the facts come out. If any of our players are involved, punish them. I don't get the whole don't let the team represent at the PAC 12 tourney. A lot of years of practice and hard work by the other players to take tournament opportunities away from them.
A kid like Jio Fontan has been through so much with this team; he shouldn't be punished for the actions of irresponsible teammates when he was nowhere near this thing.
I woke up to this story this morning - I absolutely agree it needs to play-out and IF players involved then individual discipline taken.
would you suspend/expel them if they indeed were jumped and swinging in an act of self defense? Pretty hard to avoid a situation when it is forced upon you.
edit: not saying thats what happened, just wanting to discuss and hear your guys' opinions.

Of course not. IF they were jumped and there was some collateral damage, then oh well. And yes, I've seen drunk women instigate a brawl. It was women who instigated the brawl at the Rose Bowl a few years ago.
Again, it depends on the facts. If they were suppose to be in their hotel rooms and were out getting drunk then doesn't matter who started it. Then again, maybe they weren't drunk, maybe it wasn't even USC players. I'll wait to hear more before I shoot em.
Dedmon and Blascyk both suspended pending investigation. Can we play a basketball game with only Oraby at center?
Women can be the WORST, it's embarrassing.
There have been more than a few times I have thought to myself.."Lady, you deserve a punch in the mouth"
"Here are provided seats of meditative joy, where shall rise again the destined reign of Troy." Virgil
My take has always been: do unto others as you would have done unto you.
If I start a fight then there's no complaining about what happens to me in that fight. If I throw a punch, then man or woman, you have every right to throw a punch back.
Granted, that's a general philosophy. No idea what happened in this case and my hope is that all USC players involved are cleared of wrong doing. If not, then punishment should be assigned accordingly.
I agree. I won't stand to be disrespected as a woman, and I will never disrespect a man..hit him? Never, wouldn't lower myself to do that. I've always had protective guys around me.
A man should exhaust every option before striking a woman...but for a woman to start/participate in a brawl, and be in the middle of it? You pay the consequences.
