Um, you do know that SC had 10 prior opponents to prepare for, right? Or do you think they just prepared for Oregon's offense the entire time leading up to the game?
What sanctions? Our 75 are better than your 85.
Interesting you choose six years as your cutoff.
Um, you do know that coaches use the offseason to prepare for the entire slate of games, right? Here's an article which confirms Kiffin creates the gameplans in the offseason. Or do you think they actually spend three days before each game?
Lane Kiffin was despised by SEC fans (including Tennessee's) during his 14-month tenure at Rocky Top. But the USC head coach has experienced a transformation in Los Angeles.
Well said JC. What was it that Auburn said after we played a home and home with them? Something along the lines of, "We'll never schedule USC again."
Cute article, but there's a reason why all of Oregon's losses (with the exception to SC last year) under Chip Kelly have come against teams that have at least a month before the actual game to prepare for that offense.
The Arkansas coach said..."they weren't that good when we scheduled them...." as he apologized to the fans.
About sums up the mentality...schedule only easy wins, but never USC, even in a down period.
"Here are provided seats of meditative joy, where shall rise again the destined reign of Troy." Virgil
Much like that coward Mack Brown saying that he would never have schedule Ohio State if it was up to him (I think back in '05 when they had to travel to Columbus).
Why are schools afraid to schedule big-time games? Or heck, even teams with half a pulse....
Kind of like what Foley (Fla) and Moore (Bama) told Garrett in 2003/2004 about a home and home with USC 3-5 years down the road?
Taking a look at Oregon's record since Chip Kelly took over, doesn't it seem to you that who those teams that beat them are is more important then how long they had to prepare for them? Putting it another way, what do you suppose happens if Cal or Washington State has over a month to prepare for the Ducks?
Since I can't address this comment on your board, here goes:

I will now be spending the rest of my day on the USC board......check in on the fun.
And I took someone's argument about the arky game over there as an example only because they cited it first.....it's getting pretty ugly over there if I do say so myself."
Getting ugly over here? Man, are you a light weight....you're bringing nothing over here we haven't heard ad nauseum since 2003. Do you all share a collective brain, and follow like sheep, with the same old bull shit?
We're just getting started Bammy Boy, it's been nothing but easy banter so far.....

You obviously have zero reading comprehension because I didn't say that the SEC style D is bullshit (although most of your conference does have bullshit D), I said your "SEC big boy" defense brainwashing line is bullshit. Maybe what you are trying to say is that LSU and Bama had solid D, if so then I would agree with you, but your brain won't let you process the distinction between two good teams and the rest of the SEC.
I also was basically saying that USC has stomped "SEC big boy" defenses.

LMAO.....What's the deal with no reciprocal board interaction over there?
Are they afraid we'll make fun of their grammar, spelling and syntax? (snicker, snicker...)
What if we promise to keep it football-related with no mental acuity required on their part...will their mods then relent, and let them come out to play?
I would actually make this arguement in reverse. That the reason your offenses score so many points is because you consistently play lower level defenses. The reality is that these are both theories that can only be proved or disproved on the field. We have won 6 of the last MNC's so I'd say our theory has more credibility than yours. Here is to us meeting in the MNC this year and finding out. I know we would all love for that to happen. Good luck!
I've always had respect for Alabama, like most Trojans...because I always felt they were above the "SEC! SEC! SEC!" pervasive attitude in their conference.
Most of their great history was while playing in a weak conference, but they proved their worth in out of conference games. Bama to me was always ALABAMA, and never the conference they played in..they were better than that.
My, how times have changed.
I'll be honest USC 55 LSU 3
Becky -"Their physical appearance defined muscles, BD, I feel how they desire me and how much they enjoy every inch of me, I just love it"
It's a combination of both who the team is and preparation. With an offense like the one Oregon runs, preparation time is a big deal. Do you think LSU wins the turnover battle (4-1) against Oregon if they had only three days to prepare for that offense? I doubt it.
You could make that "arguement" in reverse, however, it would only confirm what we already know about folks from the SEC...they're not too smart and have a difficult time rationalizing things.
Let me know if the word rationalizing has too many syllables in it for you to sound out.
I think perhaps having the Thorpe and Bednarik winners in their secondary perhaps contributed to the turnovers more then preparation.
Oregon lost three fumbles in that game. I think its a stretch to say you spend an offseason preparing to recover fumbles. Right?
Apparently not in CFB. The level of stupidity in this thread is unparalleled. You folks need to stick to pro sports if your knowledge level of CFB is this bad.
BTW I was pulling for USC to kick allbarn's azz and would do so again. I don't give a rip about the SEC and would not lose any sleep if you beat Lsux in the NC game. That said, its not going to happen anyway. You all will lose a PAC-12 game or two like you do most years and will then be out of it and have yet another year to cry and whine about how the SEC can't play offense and how USC would score 50 on any SEC team.
I also would love to see an Alabama/USC matchup in the NC game if they both managed to go undefeated. I would like to see the game because it would be a great traditional matchup and a potentially a good game. Your team is very talented and I am not overconfident like you clowns but I would not bet against Alabama and I certainly would not look for USC to score 50. Aint gonna happen.
The stupidity arrived when you and the rest of the Bama Clan got off the old mare and said, "sheyoot...looky here..."
As opposed to the Florida team that lost to Ole' Miss at home?
This USC team, is nothing like Pete USC teams! These LSU and Bama teams are nothing like those Auburn and Arky teams back then either! I do think that USC can beat LSU cause LSU don't have any offense and they are not really fundamental sound on D! They do have a good D but gamble a lot! I do think the game could go either way and I think Lane is a better coach than Les!
Against Bama would still be a good game. But I do think Bama would win! I just don't see USC having a dominate D to stop Bama! While everyone talk about how good our D is, they don't give enough credit to our O! No it's not great, but very balance and effective! I don't think that USC can sit and go deep against us or LSU because of our front.
I do think all of these games would be fun to watch! But a half a hundred? Maybe big points on LSU! We have seen them get frustrated at times, but I've never seen Bama lose big since Saban been here!
LOL! Not sure if you "left" coasters are really serious or not ; )
Where exactly does this false bravado come from?? lol
USC was an eyelash away from finishing with 3 PUS-10 losses last year. If not for a last second missed FG by Oregon not a soul would even be having these conversions.
The Honey Badger is going to cover Robert Woods...who's gonna cover M.L? M.M might not get alot of yards at first but once SC airs it out, it's gonna open up that run game.
Still too early though..but I'd admit, it would be one hell of a championship game.
I will chime in on this one thing. LSU did not have an offense last year, period. 2nd best Defense in nation helped make em look better than they were (offensively speaking). 86th in total offense and 106th in passing does not even put em in a conversation of offensive worry for defenses. Will they be better with ZM in there? Yes. How much better? Better. LSU special teams are as solid as you can get, period.
USC defense is the wildcard plain n simple. Pass defense gave up chunks.
Some mentioned balanced teams on here but Bama is no doubt the most balanced team college football has. Great Defense, super balanced Offense in 2011 by going 215/game rushing to go along with 215/game passing. The more "balanced" you are on offense, the more you keep the defenses "off balance".
But since we're talking about LSU/USC and if they were to play in title game, I'd give the early nod to LSU. Mainly because I need to see what Monte does with his group this year. Defense wins championships and if you happen to have superior special teamers like LSU has (punter and kicker), than you dont really need to push the bill on offense. Unless of course you're facing a team like 'Bama's D from last year. lol.
Thanks for the chime time, cant wait for some CF
